Earlier in the show, Brock Lesnar defended the WWE Championship against Bobby Lashley at the 2022 Royal Rumble event. Despite Lesnar’s best efforts, and largely due to the involvement of Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Lesnar lost the WWE title to Lashley. However, “The Beast’s” evening wasn’t quite done yet. The final entrant of the Men’s Royal Rumble was unknown and viewers wondered who would be the final competitor. Entering this year’s Men’s Royal Rumble at #30 was Brock Lesnar himself, who was not only physically dominant but won the match itself, earning a world title match at WrestleMania 38 later this April.

Brock Lesnar Wins the Men’s Royal Rumble
What to Know Following “The Beast’s” Show-Closing Victory
Brock Lesnar entered this year’s Men’s Royal Rumble at #30 and to say that he stepped into the ring with a purpose would be an understatement. He immediately asserted his dominance, eliminating 5 competitors in a matter of minutes. Such competitors included Shane McMahon, Bad Bunny, Riddle, Randy Orton, and finally, Drew McIntyre. Keep in mind that, in 2020, it was McIntyre that eliminated Lesnar before ultimately winning that year’s Rumble. With this year’s victory, Lesnar has the opportunity to challenge either Universal Champion Roman Reigns or new WWE Champion Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 38.
Lesnar is now officially recognized as a 2x Royal Rumble winner, previously winning the match back in 2003. In 2003, Lesnar entered the match at #29, lasting 9 minutes. He scored 4 eliminations, finally dumping The Undertaker over the top rope to win that year’s Royal Rumble. This year, Lesnar finds himself in an elite class of other 2x winners, specifically Orton, Batista, Edge, Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and John Cena.
