Jake Atlas Rampage Debut vs Adam Cole

A new year but the same high-level action All Elite Wrestling fans have come to know and love. It is the first AEW Rampage of 2022 and AEW is pulling out all the stops. Not even a year old, Rampage has already provided fans with such memorable moments like the return to professional wrestling, after seven years away, of one CM Punk. Not to mention, Christian Cage beating “The Best Bout Machine” Kenny Omega for the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship in the show’s first-ever match. Those are just some of the moments that had the fans at the edge of their seats and there’s no doubt 2022 will offer a lot more matches and moments for fans to enjoy.

In this edition of Rampage, “The Mad King” teams up with one of the best tag teams AEW has to offer to aid him in his war against a faction that has relentlessly provoked him for months. Also, the AEW Women’s World Champion will be in action as she teams up with her hired Assasin against the number one contender and “The Runaway”. On top of that, The Elite’s favorite son battles a rising star making his Rampage debut. There’s plenty more where that came from. Start your year off right and witness the most exciting 60 minutes of wrestling action to end your week right. Without further ado, this is Rampage! Let’s run it down.

Full AEW Rampage Match Card:

  • No DQ, No Rules, No Holds Barred: Daniel Garcia & 2Point0 vs. Eddie Kingston, Santana & Ortiz
  • Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. & Jamie Hayter vs. Riho & Ruby Soho
  • Adam Cole vs. Jake Atlas

Asserting Dominance

Jake Atlas turned a lot of heads in his impressive AEW debut on an edition of AEW Dark: Elevation against Serpentico. It caught a lot of eyes that Tony Khan ended up signing Atlas to a contract making the budding young star #AllElite. However, it wasn’t only Tony Khan who took notice. Adam Cole himself, riding the highest of highs after beating Best Friends with reDRagon, challenged Atlas to a match on this week’s Friday show.

Cole is looking to make a statement and keep the momentum going by making an example out of Jake Atlas. With that being said, after his splendid debut, clearly Atlas is no pushover. He has all the tools to hang with the so-called “top guys” and can rise to the occasion when the situation calls for it. Cole should not be running his victory lap just yet as Atlas is for real and he is now officially #AllElite. Will Adam Cole chalk up another win or will Jake Atlas shock the world?

Calm Before The Storm

Exactly one day before the Battle of the Belts, the number one contender Riho will collide with the AEW Women’s Champion Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. in tag team action. As they team up with TBS Tournament finalist Ruby Soho and Jamie Hayter. Things got extremely heated on Dynamite this week as Baker proceeded to taunt Soho after her loss against the new TBS Champion Jade Cargill. Ruby would immediately fire back stating that Britt’s days as champion might be coming to an end.

As she pointed out that Baker has not yet beaten Riho in their past bouts. This statement prompted an attack by Baker, Hayter, and, Rebel against the exhausted Soho. Fortunately for Ruby, someone was watching her back as Riho came in to save her from further damage. Those words from Soho might have resonated with Britt in a negative way. As it is true that she has never beaten Riho before and she needs to step up her game to another level come this Saturday night if she wants to remain champion. Nevertheless, Rampage provides a preview of things to come this Saturday Fight Night and it will surely be a good one. Don’t miss the action as it all goes down this Friday night only on TNT!
