Janai Kai Set To Make AEW Rampage Debut

AEW Collision to be featured at upfronts

On the December 3 edition of AEW Rampage Janai Kai will get the biggest opportunity of her young career as she makes her television debut against Jade Cargill. Kai is a young talent with a lot of potential who has been blazing a trail on the independent scene in 2021. Unlike most, Janai Kai is bypassing the AEW Dark starting point and is instead debuting on AEW Rampage which is a great chance to raise her profile. While it’s unlikley Kai beats the runaway freight train that is Jade Cargill we’re happy to see her on the biggest stage.

Janai Kai: A Star In The Making

Using her background in Kickboxing a nd May Thai to her advantage Kai is known as the “Kick Demon” thanks her striking heavy offense.  As well as strikes she is capable on the mat as she showcased for Combat Fight Unlimited where she has a 3-1 record.

Kai debuted in 2018 and quickly found a head of steam. She seemed to be heading for a breakout year in 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic put a freeze on independent wrestling limiting her to just a handful of matches with Paradigm Pro Wrestling as her main highlight of 2020, although her match with Jordan Blade was a great showcase of what both competitors can do. Jordan Blade is another name that indie fans should be keeping an eye on.

Janai Kai put the pandemic behind her and kicked off 2021 with a bang when she was showcased on Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport as well as Camp Leapfrog‘s Frogsport tournament. Since then Kai has compete for major independent promotions like Jersey Championship WrestlingGlobal Syndicate WrestlingEnjoy WrestlingBlack Label ProWarrior WrestlingSHIMMER, and Beyond Wrestling to name just a few. Kai competed both as a singles competitor and in the tag team YoKai (presumably a play on Yo-Kai Watch) where she teams with Yoya.

Kai caps off her breakout year with this appearance for AEW as well as a showcase match against Trish Adora in Ring Of Honor. What 2022 holds in store for Kai is unknown but she is sure to go into the year as one of the most in demand women’s wrestlers on the independent scene, unless a lucky company snaps her up first! Kai is already getting ready for WrestleMania weekend 2022, a time generally known for showcasing the breakout stars of independent wrestling and we would reccomend keeping an eye on what she does during the annual indie wrestling showcase.
