Edge made his return to Monday Night Raw. He last appeared at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event this past October, where he picked up a victory over Seth Rollins in a Hell in a Cell Match. As he spoke, he rattled off a number of names that he would like to work with. These included, but weren’t limited to, AJ Styles and current WWE Champion Big E. What the viewers in attendance, and those watching from home, didn’t expect was that this wasn’t the only major comeback. Making their return to Monday Night Raw was the duo of The Miz and Maryse.

The Miz and Maryse Return to Raw
After interrupting Edge, The Miz took the mic, taking umbrage with WWE giving “The Rated R Superstar” the big return treatment. The Miz was none too happy with Edge taking time away and being greeted with pomp and circumstance while not being given the same. The Miz also noted that among the names Edge listed, “The Most Must-See WWE Superstar” wasn’t present. Edge accused The Miz of having a separate agenda, believing that the latter interrupted him to be placed in a main event spot. The Miz balked at this, believing that he surpassed Edge long ago and that “The Rated R Superstar” should have stayed home for good. He noted that, at Wrestlemania XXVII, The Miz main evented against John Cena while Edge wrestled in the first televised match of the night.
However, Edge agreed with The Miz on one aspect: he only had a limited window of time left as a competitor. Thus, he wanted to test himself against the current crop of stars, noting that The Miz didn’t share the same respect that other WWE Superstars did. Edge declared that while he fought to get that limited window, The Miz did to get his next big gig while waiting for his former partners to “get fired.” From there, it appeared that Edge and The Miz were about to fight. That was until The Miz left with Maryse in tow, Edge standing in the middle of ring and staring down his potential future opponent.
The Miz hasn’t been on WWE programming since this past August, having recently severed his on-screen partnership with John Morrison. In the meanwhile, he was a participant on Season 30 of Dancing With the Stars. The following November, The Miz and dance partner Witney Carson were the seventh pair eliminated from the competition.
