#AndNEW: Mandy Rose Wins NXT Women’s Championship

Mandy Rose NXT Women's Championship

Earlier in the night, on NXT 2.0 Halloween Havoc, Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin of Toxic Attraction captured the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship in a triple threat ladder match. Later in the show, the third member of the “Toxic Trifecta,” Mandy Rose, challenged Raquel González for the NXT Women’s Championship. This was no ordinary contest, however, as they faced off in a “Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal” Match. As determined by said wheel spin, Rose and González faced off in a “Chucky’s Choice” Match.

As determined by the iconic slasher movie villain, Rose and González match was a “Trick or Street Fight,” where there would be no count-outs or disqualifications. In addition, the match needed to end with a pinfall or submission in the ring. After a grueling contest, it was Mandy Rose that emerged victorious, winning the NXT Women’s Championship and ensuring that all members of Toxic Attraction walked away with championship gold. However, Rose didn’t do it alone, as she found unlikely assistance in the form of a returning Dakota Kai.

Mandy Rose Captures the NXT Women’s Title

With this NXT Women’s Championship victory, Mandy Rose has won her first title in WWE. She made her first appearance in the summer of 2015 on the sixth season of Tough Enough. She placed second overall in the competition, though she would eventually sign a 5-year deal with WWE. From there, she worked a number of matches on NXT programming. In 2017, she made her main roster debut on Monday Night Raw, aligning herself with Paige and Sonya Deville as the trio known as Absolution. Following Paige’s in-ring retirement in April of 2018, Rose and Deville continued to work together until last year, when Rose became romantically involved, onscreen, with Otis. Prior to making her way back to NXT this past July, forming Toxic Attraction, Rose was part of a shortlived duo with Dana Brooke.
