#AndNEW: New Champions Crowned at AJPW SUPER DELUXE SERIES

AJPW SUPER DELUXE SERIES

All Japan Pro Wrestling has recently started the AJPW SUPER DELUXE SERIES with its first event this morning. It featured three title matches, with two seeing championships changing hands. Let’s get into the news at hand.

Titles Change Hands at AJPW SUPER DELUXE SERIES

El Lindaman and T-Hawk Win All Asia Tag Team Championship

The first title match of the AJPW SUPER DELUXE SERIES featured the All Asia Tag Team Championship. Zeus and Izanagi defended their titles against El Lindaman and T-Hawk in a match originally scheduled two months prior. The two teams put on a great match, but the result was new All Asia Tag Team Champions crowned. El Lindaman and T-Hawk ended the year-long reign of Purple Haze. This is the first time the current champions held titles in All Japan. It is currently unknown who the next challengers are.

Shotaro Ashino and Suwama Win AJPW World Tag Team Championship

In the main event, the brand new team of Shotaro Ashino and Suwama battled Kento Miyahara and Yuma Aoyagi for the AJPW World Tag Team Championship. The latter team’s reign dates back to the beginning of the year. This title match meant everything for Ashino, to see if he could finally win an accolade in AJPW.

Ashino outlived the onslaught from Aoyagi, eventually defeating him to win his first-ever championship in All Japan. This is Suwama’s 6th time holding this championship while being Shotaro’s first-ever belt in the company.

It is currently unknown who the next challengers are for the new champions. This is only the beginning of the SUPER DELUXE SERIES. More title matches may take place at the second event on September 21; this could be the event for the upcoming SUGI vs. Yusuke Kodama match as well. This contest could also be for the next major event on October 16, Champions Night. The only thing that is for certain is that the tag team division in AJPW has drastically changed.
