#AndNEW: Charlotte Flair Wins Sixth Raw Women’s Championship at SummerSlam 2021

Charlotte Flair SummerSlam Raw Women's Championship

The Raw Women’s Championship was contested in triple threat action at SummerSlam 2021, as Nikki A.S.H. defended the title against Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair. Given that she was up against two competitors that previously held the title, the “Almost Super Hero” had her work cut out for her. Furthermore, this match was an extension of a long-running feud featuring the three competitors. Despite a valiant effort from the champion, as well as the grit of Ripley, it was the self-proclaimed “Queen” that stood tall. Finally making Nikki A.S.H. tap out to the Figure Eight Leglock, Charlotte Flair won her sixth Raw Women’s Championship at SummerSlam.

Charlotte Flair Captures the RAW Women’s Title at SummerSlam

As stated earlier, Charlotte Flair is the first woman in WWE history to hold the Raw Women’s Championship a total of six times. Previously, her five RAW Women’s title reigns were tied with Sasha Banks, who previously won the title in July of 2020. This also makes Flair the woman with the most Raw Women’s title reigns. Since 2014, “The Queen” has become arguably the most decorated women’s WWE Superstar of the modern era. Including her two reigns as NXT Women’s Champion, she has held a total of 13 singles titles in WWE.

With this loss, Nikki A.S.H.’s first Raw Women’s Championship reign has come to an end at 33 days. She previously won the title on Monday Night Raw the night after Money in the Bank earlier this year. Having won the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match in shocking fashion, the blue mask-wearing underdog spent only a day lying in wait. On Raw, then-Women’s titleholder Charlotte Flair faced Rhea Ripley in a Money in the Bank rematch; the rematch in question would end in disqualification on Ripley’s behalf. Post-match, Ripley attacked Flair, giving A.S.H. the opportunity she needed to successfully cash in.
