Melina defeated Lauren, but this was not the end of the night for the women’s wrestling veteran. After Melina won the match, she was attacked by her opponent for NWA EmPowerrr, and current IMPACT Knockouts Champion, Deonna Purrazzo. Purrazzo was joined by her Homecoming tag team partner the “The Drama King” Matthew Rehwoldt. The score was quickly evened up when Trey Miguel made his way to the ring. He helped Melina clear out the ring, leaving Melina and Miguel standing tall.
Shortly after the brawl, a match was made for tomorrow’s Emergence show as Miguel and Melina will team up to take on the team of Purrazzo and Rehwoldt. The victory for Melina in her IMPACT debut is another milestone in her historic career. Melina worked in WWE from 2004-2011 where she was part of the MNM stable alongside Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro from 2004-2006. She is also a former 2x Divas Champion and 3x WWE Women’s Champion.
Melina will be able to get in the ring with Purrazzo tomorrow before they meet on August 28th with the Knockouts title on the line.
