Brian Myers is the new number one contender for Kenny Omega’s IMPACT World Championship. Myers won the Number One Contenders Battle Royal this week on IMPACT to earn the shot against Omega. He will face Omega for the title at the IMPACT Plus event Emergence on August 20th. This is, of course, only if Omega is able to retain the title against Christian Cage tomorrow on the debut episode of AEW Rampage. Nonetheless, “Brian Myers wins battle royal” became one of the headlines coming out of tonight’s show.

Brian Myers Wins the Battle Royal
The Number One Contenders Battle Royal that Myers won was created by IMPACT official Tommy Dreamer. Scott D’Amore tasked him with finding a new number one contender for Omega. Dreamer’s answer was the battle royal which did not sit well with Don Callis or Omega. Omega and Callis may not be happy with the decision, but Omega will now have to defend his title at Emergence.
Myers is a former TNA Tag Team Champion with Trevor Lee. If he defeats Omega, this will be his first reign as IMPACT World Champion. He defeated notable competitors in the battle royal such as Sami Callihan, Moose, Rich Swann, and Eddie Edwards.
