Open the Twin Gate Championship: King Shimizu and Susumu Yokosuka (c) vs Dragon Kid and Ben-K
Less than 24 hours ago, King Shimizu and Susumu Yokosuka won the Open the Twin Gate Championship. Now, they turn right around to defend against two opponents who know them better than most of the roster do in Dragon Kid and Ben-K. The title challenge was set up after a three-way tag match. Dragon Kid and Ben-K wanted to challenge the now-former champions. However, Natural Vibes got the win, so they had first dibs. Thus, Ben and Kid will receive this Day Two title match.
Dragon Kid and Susumu Yokosuka have a long story dating back nearly 20 years. This history will be revisited once again on the big stage for the Twin Gate titles. Ben-K and King Shimizu are former two-time Open the Twin Gate Champions together. Which team will outdo the other and leave with the titles?
Open the Dream Gate Championship: Shun Skywalker (c) vs Yamato
After a grueling defense against KZY last night, Shun Skywalker looks to make two straight defenses at Kobe World. However, this challenge is a bit harder for him, as he has never defeated YAMATO. As a matter of fact, YAMATO was the person who gave Skywalker his first loss since his return to Dragon Gate last year. This occurred in the first round of King of Gate, which gave YAMATO leverage in asking for this all-important title match. YAMATO is a former 4x Dream Gate Champion looking to make it to his fifth reign.
However, Shun Skywalker looks to put a stop to YAMATO and make his sixth successful defense. However, Skywalker stands in the way of YAMATO and history. If YAMATO captures the Dream Gate Championship, he’ll hold the record for most title reigns, as Dream Gate Champion, with five reigns.
Masato Yoshino Retirement Match: Masato Yoshino and Naruki Doi vs Eita and BxB Hulk
Masato Yoshino is one of the all-time greats, not just in Dragon Gate but in pro wrestling. Now, it has come time for him to retire due to a lingering neck injury that has haunted him since 2017. During this retirement road, he has been giving his all and keeping his spirit alive by giving all the younger wrestlers of Dragon Gate his signature moves to use going forward. He gets to go out on top teaming with his long-time partner, Naruki Doi.
This match came about since Naruki Doi vowed to compete alongside Masato Yoshino until it was time for his retirement. Thus, Doi didn’t join a unit. Yoshino wanted him and Doi to team with Eita and BxB Hulk and they did. However, Eita and Hulk turned on them, asking Doi if he was already giving up on supporting Yoshino. Now they get their chance for revenge in the main event. No matter the result, it’ll be sad to see Yoshino go, but his legacy will never fade.
