Nick Gage made his surprising AEW debut on night 2 of Fyter Fest. Gage recently made his return from injury at Game Changer Wrestling‘s Take Kare event after roughly 8 months out with injury before winning the promotions top title at Spring Break where he came face to face with Jon Moxley. Gage was already a name on fans minds but his recent Dark Side Of The Ring special catapulted him to a new level of notoriety. Nick Gage was revealed to be Chris Jericho‘s opponent in his second labor by MJF, the match will have no rules which plays into Gage’s strengths.
Nick Gage has been one of the top names on the independent wrestling scene for a few years now. He has formed a cult-like bond with his fanbase over a shared love of MDK “All F’n Day”. He has been key to the rise of Game Changer Wrestling as a major player on the indies in part due to that cult feeling to his matches, the fact he puts his body on the line in the ring doesn’t hurt either.
What many may not know is that Gage is 40 years old and debuted all the way back in 1999. Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) was his home promotion for over a decade until 2010 when he was arrested. Since 2017 Gage, now clean of his crippling addictions, has worked as GCW’s biggest star and become one of the most recognizable faces on the US indie scene thanks to his charisma, insane matches, and very real promos that his fans lap up.
