A new champion has been crowned on the latest edition of ROH TV. In episode #502’s marquee match, Tony Deppen challenged Tracy Williams for the ROH World Television Championship. Leading into this match, Deppen was positioned as number two on the World TV Title rankings, a spot he claimed by besting Kenny King on episode #495. Throw in the fact that Deppen is currently part of the newly formed VLNCE UNLTD, which also includes Chris Dickinson, Homicide, and Brody King, and it’s apparent that Deppen’s recent time in Ring of Honor has been eventful. Things have become that much more exciting; on this weekend’s ROH TV, Deppen defeated Williams to be crowned the new ROH World Television Champion.

Yesterday, a fan tweeted out the news of Tony Deppen winning the ROH World TV Title. “Cats out of the bag,” said Deppen. “Oh and I’m still an INDEPENDENT WRESTLER.”
This marks the first-ever ROH title won by Deppen. He joined the promotion in late 2020, competing in the ROH Pure Championship Tournament. Deppen would lose in the first round to PJ Black, though the former had a good showing. Deppen would also challenge for the World TV Championship against then-titleholder Dragon Lee at Final Battle in December of that year. Meanwhile, Williams’ title reign lasted a little over one month. He won the title at ROH’s 19th Anniversary event, defeating Kenny King, who substituted for Lee. By this point, Lee had been diagnosed with a ruptured eardrum, temporarily putting him on the shelf.
