NWA Powerrr Card: Episode 24 (4/6/21) – Da Pope vs. Fred Rosser

NWA Powerrrr 4/6/21

On last week’s edition of NWA Powerrr, fans were greeted with an unexpected conclusion. A match that wasn’t even scheduled took center stage, placing the NWA National Championship in the spotlight. It would seem as though the action will continue this week, as fans will be treated to not one but two big title matches, one of which was meant to take place on the previous episode. Without any further delay, let’s take a look at the action to come.

NWA World Tag Team Championship: Aron Stevens and JR Kratos (c) vs. Sal Rinauro and a Mystery Partner

In one of the two major title matches on this week’s NWA Powerrr, the reigning NWA World Tag Team Champions have a mysterious challenge waiting. This past November, on an episode of UWN Primetime Live, the team of Aron Stevens and JR Kratos defeated James Storm and Eli Drake, currently known in NXT as LA Knight, for the NWA World Tag Team Championship. Since then, the champions have taken part in their own singles endeavors, including Stevens challenging Nick Aldis for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship at Back For The Attack. This match marks Stevens and Kratos’ first title defense.

One of the opponents that the titleholders will be preparing for is none other than Sal Rinauro. Though he’s remained busy on the independent scene, including Anarchy Wrestling and Southern Fried Championship Wrestling, Rinauro has been something of a cult hero in the NWA. With that said, Rinauro has been absent from NWA in-ring action since 2019, his final match being in a qualifying tournament for the NWA World Television Championship, currently held by Da Pope. Rinauro understands the opportunity awaiting him on NWA Powerrr, but who has he selected to fight alongside? Check out this week’s episode to find out.

NWA World Television Championship: Da Pope (c) vs. Fred Rosser

Finally, the NWA World Television Championship match that was set to take place on the previous episode will unfold here. Last week, this match was pushed back in favor of Trevor Murdoch and Chris Adonis; the former was attacked by the latter earlier in the show. This resulted in Murdoch defending the NWA National Title against Adonis; in turn, Da Dope’s title defense was shuffled to the side. However, after a week of waiting, Fred Rosser will finally have his chance to compete for the title in which he won a three-way number one contender’s match to earn. However, unseating the reigning World Television Champion will be easier said than done.

Since becoming the NWA World Television Champion this past October, defeating Zicky Dice to do so, Da Pope has become one of the men to beat in the National Wrestling Alliance. At NWA Back For The Attack, Da Pope faced Thom Latimer of Strictly Business in a time-limit draw, though the champion retained. Two weeks ago, on NWA Powerrr, Da Pope’s momentum was stunted when, alongside Aron Stevens and JR Kratos, he lost to the three-man team of Latimer, Adonis, and Nick Aldis. Meanwhile, this marks the singles match for Rosser on NWA Powerrr, and to say that he has begun with a bang would be an understatement. Can Rosser be the one to unseat Da Dope, becoming the new NWA World Television Champion in the process?
