News coming out of the most recent IMPACT Wrestling taping is that Eric Young is injured and is set to miss six-plus months with a torn ACL. Young revealed the news himself on the Wrestling Perspective Podcast. It seems that Young’s matches from the taping won’t be affected but that he will stop being featured in the ring for Rebellion and upcoming tapings.
Eric Young Injured At IMPACT Taping
This is a terrible setback as Young has been doing nothing but fantastic work in IMPACT Wrestling ever since his return at Slammiversary last year following his WWE release. During his return match, Young snapped at Rich Swann and kicked off a feud between the two that would see Young win the IMPACT World Championship as a slightly unhinged maniac. The feud between Young and Swann was a highlight of IMPACT heading into Bound For Glory and the two delivered a great match as Young dropped the title to Swann, anointing Swann as the lead babyface of IMPACT.
Thankfully for Eric Young, he has recently been building a faction known as Violent By Design which boasts Rhino, Joe Doering, and Deaner in its ranks. Even if Young is unable to wrestle, he can continue as the group’s mouthpiece until he is ready to return.
