The first test for “The Pinnacle”

Last week, MJF would officially unveil the group that is supposed to rival and overtake The Inner Circle. This group would officially become known as “The Pinnacle”. MJF would recruit the best of the best in the form of FTR, Shawn Spears, Wardlow, and the legendary wrestling mind of Tully Blanchard. With Maxwell at the forefront, he promised that they would do what The Inner Circle never fully could: takeover the landscape of AEW as a whole. He would go on to state that after months of being hindered, that he is now the driving force of one of the most dominant forces in wrestling. Going on to say, that he is still better than everyone and they know it.

The Varsity Blonds and one half of Top Flight, the high-flying Dante Martin, are first at-bat to see what this new group is really made of. FTR and Shawn Spears would love to make a strong statement and solidify the intent of what The Pinnacle is all about. Will Pillman Jr., Garrison, and Martin score an upset, or will The Pinnacle bulldoze through them starting the faction off in the right direction?

Fighting Champion

Darby Allin was livid. But surprisingly, it was towards himself. He stated that he had defended his TNT Championship just three times since winning it. But he said that was not right. Allin wanted to be a fighting champion. As the face of TNT, he wants to battle week in and week out with the best competitors AEW has to offer. That if they want his championship so badly they should step up and fight for it. Now that everything with Team Taz has been settled, he could go back to business.

Allin would say he wants to follow in the footsteps and honor the legacy of the greatest TNT Champion ever, Mr. Brodie Lee. He would call out Dark Order and said if they want the TNT title back into the fold, they should come and get it. The group would ultimately choose John Silver to deservingly challenge Darby Allin for the TNT Championship this week on Dynamite. Will Allin once again retain the gold or will Silver cash in on the opportunity of a lifetime and bring back the title to the Dark Order?

Honoring a Gentleman’s Agreement

On the debut of Dark: Elevation, The World champion Kenny Omega would appear in the backstage area congratulating Matt and Mike Sydal for their tag team victory. Then, Omega would proceed to undress Matt and say he couldn’t beat him on his best day. Matt would respond that he got it all wrong and should put his money where his mouth was. Kenny would just laugh it off and proposed a match. If Matt could defeat Michael Nakazawa, he’d give Matt Sydal the opportunity to earn a shot at the AEW World Championship this Wednesday night on Dynamite. Despite it being Matt’s second match of the night he agreed.

Later in the night, Matt would go on to decisively beat Nakazawa in quick fashion, in the process, securing himself a number one contender’s match. Omega would go back on his promise, which he never really intended to keep it whatever the result was. AEW President Tony Khan would come down to the entranceway and take matters into his own hands. He said this is not the first time Omega would go back on a “Gentleman’s Agreement” and he was not having it anymore. He explicitly stated that this match will be happening and Kenny had no choice but to go through with it. The President has spoken and fans will see an AEW World Title Eliminator Match this Wednesday.

If Matt Sydal is able to beat Kenny Omega one-on-one, he will secure a future shot at the AEW World Championship. Something’s got to give. It’s Omega Vs. Matt Sydal on Dynamite!
