The AEW World Champion Kenny Omega has not been seen on IMPACT on AXS TV in a couple of months but proclaimed before his hiatus that he would be back in some capacity. It appears fans do not have to wait much longer, as IMPACT announced on social media today that “the Cleaner” will be returning to IMPACT television next week alongside the “Invisible Hand” Don Callis.

This announcement is likely in response to the confirmed main-event match for IMPACT Wrestling Rebellion on April 24th. In this historic match, the unified IMPACT/TNA World Heavyweight Champion Rich Swann will defend his titles, as well as challenge for the AEW World Championship, against Omega. This will be the first time Omega has battled in an IMPACT ring since the main event of Hard to Kill in January, where Omega teamed with The Good Brothers (at the time IMPACT World Tag Team Champions) to defeat Swann, Moose, and Chris Sabin.
Omega’s involvement in IMPACT Wrestling has been part of a wider partnership between IMPACT and AEW that first formed in early December when IMPACT Vice President Don Callis helped lifelong friend Omega win the AEW World Championship from Jon Moxley at AEW Dynamite: Winter is Coming. Since then, IMPACT viewership on both Twitch and AXS TV has seen a significant increase in viewership, especially on editions that Omega is involved with. While IMPACT has needed this partnership more than AEW, it has allowed The Good Brothers to wrestle with Omega on AEW television as well. AEW talent Matt Hardy and Private Party also appeared on IMPACT television recently.
It will be interesting to see what Kenny Omega has in store for IMPACT Wrestling with his return next week, especially when it comes to his opponent for his world title in one month, Rich Swann. It is impossible not to speculate that AEW Owner Tony Khan might be watching this episode closely and may make his presence known in some way.
