Preview: Gatoh Move ChocoPro #79 – Baliyan Akki vs. TAMURA (1/10/21)

ChocoPro 79

The next two episodes of ChocoPro will be interesting for Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling‘s Asia Dream Tag Team Champions. Recently, they’ve been seeing considerable success as a tag team, more so after defeating RESET for the purple straps. However, on this episode, as well as the episode to follow, Mei Suruga and Baliyan Akki will wrestle independent of one another. Episode seventy-nine of ChocoPro is fast approaching and here is what viewers should expect.

Mei Suruga vs. Tokiko Kirihara

While Baliyan Akki fights solo, Mei Suruga will do the same, as the diminutive dynamo of Best Bros squares off against Tokiko Kirihara. The last time Suruga and Kirihara battled, in singles competition, was back on episode forty-six this past September; on this show, the “Apple Girl” reigned supreme. Since then, Kirihara has seen modest success in Ichigaya Chocolate Square, specifically in tag team competition, racking up victories alongside Lulu Pencil and Chris Brookes. However, when it comes to tag team competition in Gatoh Move, “Mei-chan” is one of the names to beat. Expect this singles encounter to be a blend of fast-paced and hard-hitting offense.

Pencil Army (Emi Sakura and Lulu Pencil) vs. Chie Koishikawa and Sayaka Obihiro

After almost two months, Pencil Army will reunite on ChocoPro. The last time that Emi Sakura and Lulu Pencil teamed was episode sixty-five, where they put on a spirited though losing effort against Mei Suruga and Kuishinbo Kamen. Since then, they have gone their separate ways for a period. While Sakura teamed with Kaori Yoneyama to defend the Asia Dream Tag Team Championship, Lulu Pencil found herself in various competitions, including death match-style bouts against the likes of Minoru Fujita. Now, they reunite to battle the duo of Chie Koishikawa and Sayaka Obihiro, who seem to have a pupil-mentor bond. Following their tag team loss back on episode seventy-five, can Koishikawa and Obihiro topple Gatoh Move’s Pencil Army?

Baliyan Akki vs. TAMURA (ChocoPro Main Event)

Seldom short on confidence, Baliyan Akki is the self-proclaimed “Ace” of ChocoPro. It’s easy to see why this confidence exists, as he’s not only adept at flying but able to efficiently strike and grapple with anyone in Gatoh Move. Most recently, he has seen success alongside Mei Suruga as the team known as Best Bros. Since defeating Emi Sakura and Kaori Yoneyama for gold at the cusp of the New Year, Best Bros have remained undefeated in tag team competition. On this episode of ChocoPro, Akki will resume the role of a singles competitor, wrestling his first one-on-one match since mid-to-late December.

Akki’s opponent, on this episode of ChocoPro, will be the man known as TAMURA. Gatoh Move fans will undoubtedly be familiar with the owner of Japanese promotion Pro Wrestling HEAT UP. TAMURA has made appearances for Gatoh Move since 2012, teaming with and working against the company’s regulars. His last appearance took place on the second-to-last Gatoh Move live event in March. Since then, TAMURA has been absent from Gatoh Move, meaning that this will be his ChocoPro debut.

This won’t be the first time that Akki and TAMURA have crossed paths. In a HEAT UP event this past August, they teamed up in a losing effort against the duo of Jun Tonsho and Hiroshi Yamato. Akki and TAMURA have worked together on different occasions, but now, they find themselves facing one another in the closed quarters of Ichigaya Chocolate Square? Will Akki be able to pick up a singles win, adding to the momentum enjoyed by Best Bros, or will TAMURA make his ChocoPro debut a rousing success?
