Preview: AEW DARK (11/17/20)

AEW DARK 11/17/20

Tonight marks another packed episode of AEW DARK. Featuring a total of 13 matches, All Elite Wrestling will bring together contracted talent and independent stars around the world alike. To say that this is a loaded show would be an understatement, though this should come as no surprise to AEW DARK regulars. Take a deep dive into this upcoming show before tuning into the official AEW YouTube channel to watch later tonight.

Joey Janela vs. Marko Stunt

If “The Bad Boy” isn’t teaming with Sonny Kiss, Joey Janela finds himself amassing singles success on AEW DARK. However, a recent obstacle has been The Jurassic Express. Last week, Kiss and Janela fell to Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus. One week removed from this loss, Janela will face the smallest, perhaps scrappiest member of the stable, Marko Stunt. Will the underdog in question be able to take the former four-time CZW Wired Champion to the limit? If so, it would make for a major upset.

TNT vs. The Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus)

Meanwhile, the remaining members of The Jurassic Express will have their hands full in this tag team encounter. On this episode of AEW DARK, TNT will make their second-ever appearance on the show. The team in question consists of Terrell and Terrence Hughes, the real-life sons of WWE Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley. Last week, TNT fell to Chaos Project in a formidable effort. It would seem like the challenges continue to mount for the second-generation tag team, as the favorite duo of Jurassic Express awaits.

The Gunn Club (Billy, Austin Gunn, and Colten Gunn) vs. Bshop King, Joey O’Riley and Sean Maluta

Speaking of family matters on AEW DARK, enter The Gunn Club. On this episode, Billy and Austin Gunn will be joined by Colten Gunn, the first-born son of Billy and older brother of Austin. This episode marks the first AEW match of young Colten, too. The Gunn family trio will meet the three-man team of Bshop King, Joey O’Riley and Sean Maluta. Will the family in question be able to pick up a big win on AEW DARK? If so, Colten will enjoy a huge boost in momentum in his AEW debut.

D3 and Angel Fashion vs. The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster)

As the newest AEW stars, Anthony Bowens and Max Caster have garnered plenty of interest. The Acclaimed has become one of the featured teams to watch on AEW DARK, having recently picked up a victory over the duo of Louie Valle and Justin Blax. Not ones to rest on their laurels, Bowens and Caster will take on D3 and Angel Fashion on this episode of DARK. All eyes are on The Acclaimed, which makes sense given their new status in AEW. Expect this match to be yet another showcase for them.

Christopher Daniels vs. Jack Evans

Though he has been largely working independently from his SCU teammates, Christopher Daniels continues to show he still has it. This wrestling veteran has been a regularly consistent performer on DARK, facing the likes of Matt Sydal and Ricky Starks. On this episode, he will face another man who’s no stranger to tag team action in Jack Evans. As one half of The Hybrid 2, Evans is every bit as cocky as he is fast-paced. When these two men clash, expect to see excitement at a high level.

Leyla Hirsch vs. Tesha Price

“Legit” Leyla Hirsch is a wrestler that more than lives up to her name. With a hard-hitting style on her own, anyone that owns a victory over her has most likely left the match with their fair share of bruises. It’s important to note that, since her first appearance in AEW in October, Hirsch has yet to pick up a win in the company. This may change, however, as she battles Tesha Price, who only has one AEW DARK appearance to her name. This will be just one of numerous women’s matches to take place on this week’s episode.

Penelope Ford vs. Rahne Victoria

Making her AEW DARK debut this week will be Rahne Victoria, hailing from Dubuque, Iowa. She only has three years of experience to her name, but she has shown promise in organizations such as Pro Wrestling ZERO1 and SHINE. She is also the current reigning ZERO1 USA Women’s Champion, which will make her an extra challenge for Penelope Ford. When “The Bad Girl” hasn’t been at odds with Orange Cassidy, she continues to build up wins on AEW DARK, besting the likes of Dani Jordyn and Alex Garcia along the way. Will she be able to pick up a win over Victoria as well?

Kazarian vs. Griff Garrison

The other member of SCU that will be competing on this week’s AEW DARK will be Kazarian. As one-half of the inaugural AEW World Tag Team Champions, Kazarian is nothing short of legitimate. His status as a former champion, not to mention a veteran, can’t be disputed. These are just a few of the qualities that Griff Garrison should be mindful of as he takes on Kazarian. Over the past several weeks, Garrison has found a tag team partner in Brian Pillman Jr.; they even picked up a win on DARK just a few weeks ago. On this upcoming episode, Garrison will be flying solo.

Ivelisse vs. Alex Garcia

Alongside Diamante, Ivelisse has quickly carved a name for herself as a formidable tag team competitor in AEW. Last week, on DARK, Ivelisse and Diamante picked up a victory over Dream Girl Ellie and Jennacide. Tonight, Ivelisse stands alone as she takes on Alex Garcia. It’s important to note that Garcia is no stranger to DARK programming, either. Nonetheless, she has struggled to pick up victories. If she is able to overcome Ivelisse, a competitor with legitimacy to her name, it would be a sizable feather in her cap.

Big Swole vs. KiLynn King

On this week’s episode of AEW DARK, KiLynn King finds herself in a “Swole World.” The self-proclaimed “Queen of Crazy” is coming off a major victory, however. Only a few weeks ago, King defeated Lei’D Tapa, picking up her first singles win on DARK in the process. With that said, she will have to temper her confidence if she plans on defeating the confident, powerful Swole. She has enjoyed quite a bit of success on AEW programming as of late, defeating the likes of Skyler Moore, Tesha Price, and even current NWA World Women’s Champion, Serena Deeb. In this match featuring big personalities, only one can emerge victorious.

Travis Titan vs. Ricky Starks

As a Seth Rollins trainee, Travis Titan will make his All Elite Wrestling debut on this episode of AEW DARK. Titan has worked largely in SCW Pro Wrestling, where he competed for the company’s top title on a number of occasions. While he may be formidable, however, he will face a challenge that is simply “Absolute.” Ricky Starks has been pegged as one of the future main event stars of AEW, not only due to his charisma but his success on AEW programming as well. He is undefeated on DARK and a victory over Titan will continue to build upon his momentum.

Brandon Cutler vs. Ryzin

To say that Brandon Cutler is the underdog story of AEW would be an understatement. Following an extensive feud with Peter Avalon, Cutler was finally able to defeat the former “Librarian” last month on DARK. Two weeks ago, Cutler picked up another victory, this time over Michael Nakazawa. On this week’s episode of AEW DARK, Cutler goes up against Ryzin, who has made multiple appearances on the show in the past. However, he has yet to pick up a victory. Will Ryzin be able to do so on tonight’s episode, cutting the Cinderella story of Cutler short in the process?

Thunder Rosa vs. Lindsay Snow

In what is sure to be a main event-level match, Thunder Rosa will clash with Lindsay Snow. As the former NWA World Women’s Champion, Rosa hasn’t lost sight of gold. In fact, tomorrow on AEW Dynamite, Rosa will face Deeb in a much-anticipated rematch. Leading to this, however, Rosa will take on a sizable threat in the form of Lindsay Snow. To say that Snow is making a big AEW DARK debut would be an understatement, though it isn’t in the nature of the Bloodsport Women’s Tournament winner to be intimidated. Expect this match to steal this packed show.
