Hyped as “The Official Sequel to WrestleFest,” RetroMania Wrestling is a 2D wrestling game by Retrosoft Studios. RetroMania Wrestling follows in the same vein as WrestleFest, the World Wrestling Entertainment licensed arcade game released in 1991. Retrosoft Studio’s newest title aims to capture the old-school feeling of WrestleFest, updating certain elements to fit the modern gaming landscape.
RetroMania Wrestling boasts several match types, from standard singles and tag team matches to six and eight-man tag team affairs. It will also feature a mode known as the Retro Rumble, which will bring numerous stars together in an elimination-style battle royal. Fans can also play with different match options, including a steel cage that encompasses the ring. Matches can take place in different venues, including the Pro Wrestling Tees warehouse and the House of Hardcore. Customization is deep in this respect; Retrosoft Studios boasts over 50 match variations with these options in place.
In addition to multiplayer options, RetroMania Wrestling features different single-player options as well. In addition to a Story Mode, the game will also include 10 Pounds of Gold. The latter will see players will engage in an arcade-style gauntlet, facing multiple wrestlers on their way to the top. The goal is to win the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship. Speaking of which, RetroMania Wrestling boasts a sizable roster featuring stars not just from the National Wrestling Alliance but the wrestling world at large throughout history.
