Preview: Gatoh Move ChocoPro #53 (10/4/20)

ChocoPro 53

ChocoPro fans, it’s time to get excited. We are just one episode away from the season three finale and to say that this has been an eventful season would be an understatement. Last time, Mei Suruga and Sayaka Obihiro faced off in a competitive rematch. Following the match in question, Emi Sakura made multiple announcements for the remaining shows of the reason. These will be explained further below. Without any further delay, let’s get into the confirmed action for episode fifty-three.

Mei Suruga vs. Ryo Mizunami (Falls Count Anywhere Match)

As stated earlier, Mei Suruga competed against Sayaka Obihiro on episode fifty-two of ChocoPro. This was a rematch of their encounter from the episode prior, where Suruga submitted the fighter in blue via Lucifer. However, their rematch would have a different conclusion. Using her experience and cunning, Obihiro was able to catch the “Apple Girl” of Gatoh Move with a pin. Following this rematch, a brawl broke out, prompting the rest of the ChocoPro competitors to intervene.

This was easier said than done, especially when Emi Sakura got caught in the melee. Sakura declared that neither Suruga nor Obihiro were winners. Instead, they were losers. Suruga and Obihiro would not face each other instead. Instead, they would team up. On episode fifty-four, the ChocoPro season three finale, they would join forces to take on Sakura and her fellow AEW star, joshi puroresu veteran Ryo Mizunami. Prior to this season finale encounter, Suruga would test her mettle against the one known as “Aniki.”

Currently, Ryo Mizunami has been most prominent in SEAdLINNNG as one of the members of the idol group known as MAX VOLTAGE. Her success as a solo star can’t be denied, though, as evidenced by her status as a two-time Regina Di WAVE Champion. Mizunami has also made multiple appearances on ChocoPro. Her most recent match for the show was on episode forty-one, the Emi Sakura 25th anniversary event, where she teamed with Hanako Nakamori to defeat the duo of Makoto and Mitsuru Konno.

Suruga’s luck against “Aniki” hasn’t been ideal, however. The last time they faced each other was this past May, on episode nine, which saw Mizunami win. However, over the past several months, Suruga changed. She became a more serious competitor, even adopting the Lucifer submission maneuver that has taken her to victory multiple times. Perhaps Mizunami will see that Suruga is a different wrestler, too. Can Suruga overcome the joshi veteran or will this match mark another victory for the MAX VOLTAGE member?
