Earlier today Pro Wrestling WAVE said goodbye to HIRO’e who officially retired. On that same show the WAVE Tag Team Championships were on the line as Sakura Hirota and Yuka Miyazaki defended against BOSS To Mammy (Mio Momono & Yumi Ohka). The team of Ohka and Momono emerged victorious and captured the titles for a second time.
Hirota and Miyazaki won the titles from Momono and Ohka in December 2018 and have held them ever since although that did involve two long breaks meaning they only defended them successfully three times during their long reign.
This was an emotional win for Momono who has been plagued with injuries for much of the last two years, the initial injury that caused her and Ohka to lose the titles kept her out of action for many months and not long after her return from said injury she got hurt again and was out of action until August of this year. Momono has picked up where she left off and continued to perform at a very high level despite the injuries. Now after all this time the titles are back around the waists of her and Ohka as BOSS To Mammy are back on top of WAVE’s tag division.
