Australian Wrestling Shuts Down

Amid the chaos of COVID-19 the Australian indie wrestling scene is now beginning to follow in the footsteps of industries abroad. Just this week a number of events scheduled for this weekend and beyond have chosen to cancel/postpone or run behind closed doors without fans.

Some of the most notable being;

  • Melbourne City Wrestling (MCW) have chosen to cancel this weekend’s event, Fallout.
  • Pro Wrestling Australia (PWA) have postponed their upcoming event, Coming Out Of My Cave & I’ve Been Doing Just Fine. PWA, however, will be running a replacement event, Don’t Call It A Cancel, behind closed doors from the PWA Academy and streaming live on OVOPlay.
  • Riot City Wrestling (RCW) have cancelled their upcoming event, Power Trip, which was scheduled for March 17.
  • Deathmatch Downunder 2 which was scheduled for March 18 has been cancelled.
  • New Horizons Pro Wrestling (NHPW) have cancelled, Fallout 2020, which was scheduled for March 21.
  • Australian Wrestling League have cancelled their upcoming event, Rise To Glory, which was scheduled for March 21.
