Dramatic Dream Team (DDT) had a big start to the New Year. Not only starting off with the announcement of Chris Brookes staying with the company for a year. They also announced the roster for their sister brand in Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling’s April show. On the domestic side, they’ve shown off new tag belts and Rojo wrestling. On the 26th they return to Korakuen Hall to present Sweet Dreams 2020.
DAMNATION (Soma Takao, Mad Paulie & Nobuhiro Shimatani) vs Masuhiro Takanashi, Mizuki Watase & Keigo Nakamura
It’s members of DAMNATION against a mix of three. Keigo Nakamura, a wrestler who is on the younger end of the spectrum at around twenty years old. Mizuki Watase, a former member of a short-lived stable called the renegades. And finally, Masuhiro Takanashi who teams off and on with Chris Brookes as the Calamari Drunken Kings. DAMNATION has been on a bit of a slippery slope recently having lost a majority of their titles so a victory would bolster them. At the same time if the Takanashi lead team won it would be a major upset. It will be good all the same to see what the two teams have to offer.
ALL OUT (Konosuke Takeshita, Akito & Shunma Katsumata) vs Kazusada Higuchi, Yukio Sakaguchi & Saki Akai
Konosuke Takeshita’s first match in DDT after his small excursion to the UK. He teams up with his fellow ALL OUT stablemates in this six-man match. This won’t be an easy one as Yukio Sakaguchi and Kazusada Higuchi have been teaming up recently and have been on a roll. Most notably beating Akito and Shunma Katsumata on the 19th. Saki Akai is also a strong hand in the ring. being able to claim that her finishing hold has not been kicked out of, but also has 2 reigns as one half of the Princess of Princess tag champions. As ALL OUT are the current Six-Man tag title holders this could have title implications.
Gamo and L’oreal present Hair Arrange Tag Match: Toru Owashi & Super Sasadango Machine vs MAO & Hiroshi Yamato
This is a sponsored match, as DDT sometimes does have. Though this match contains a stipulation to complement to sponsor. That being the wrestlers will have their hair styled before the match. And considering one of the wrestlers involved in Super Sasadango Machine is masked the tone for this match is pretty set. That being said with names like MAO and Toru Owashi it will be rather active and entertaining on the wrestling side of the spectrum as well.
Right to Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Time Difference Battle Royal
Right to Challenge Anytime, anywhere is a prize that guarantees a title shot at any time the holder chooses. Though there’s an added stipulation that the holder must defend it in every match they are in. This battle royal which works exactly like a rumble. It currently has some top stars in the company. The winner of this match might not be the one to cash it in due to defending it. So this is something to keep a close eye on.
Naomichi Marufuji vs Kazuki Hirata
Naomichi Marufuji recently joined DISASTER BOX and said he was happy to meet everyone for the first time. Kazuki Hirata took issue with this for a singular reason, he claimed they met before as they went out drinking once. This is something Marufuji does not recall, and to settle the issue this match was set up by Toru Owashi. If Hirata can win the match Marufuij will have to remember Hirata’s name being the logic. Hirata is an entertaining wrestler in his own right and Marufuji is coming into the company off of some big wins. It’ll be interesting to see him with the DDT style.
KO-D Tag Titles: Nautilus (Yuki Ueno & Naomi Yoshimura) (C) vs Chihiro Hashimoto & Yuki Iino
The team of Yuki Ueno and Naomi Yoshimura collectively known as Nautilus have had a great 2020. Winning the tag titles on DDT New Year Special 2020!. Their sole loss this year coming from a team containing Yuki Iino. Chihiro Hashimoto, on the other hand, hasn’t been in DDT all that long, being more of a Sendai Girls mainstay. That hasn’t stopped her from being a champion and having a strong showing in the D-Ou Grand Prix. With her last match being a victory where she teamed with Iino. With the styles going into this it’s gonna be a battle of power.
KO-D Openweight Title: HARASHIMA (C) vs Masato Tanaka
Masato Tanaka won the D-Ou Grand Prix last year to earn this opportunity. When he and HARASHIMA crossed paths in the Grand Prix their match ended in a tie. HARASHIMA has currently been defending both the extreme title and the openweight title ever since Ultimate Party. Against an opponent like Tanaka could he slip up here and drop one of the titles. Or will the Ace of the Company continue to hold onto the titles. Of course, there is a third option now with the right to challenge gauntlet in play. HARASHIMA has to always be watching his back. This match could prove to be unpredictable.
