The Arizona Wrestling Federation (AWF) presents Triumph, Friday, January 25th in Peoria, AZ. BELL TIME 7PM. Triumph will be held at Southwest Indian Ministries Center, 14202 North 73rd Ave. Established in 2013, the AWF is based in Glendale, Arizona and held their first card in Peoria on August 10th of that year. Top stars from throughout the west coast have competed in an AWF ring like Chris Bey, Suede Thompson, Douglas James, Owen Travers, Uptown Andy Brown, and last but not least The “Equal opportunity Ass Kicker” Ruby Raze. Alexander Hammerstone and Joe Graves compete here as the Gods of War and are nominated for a 2018 AWF FanNation award for Best Tag Team. The AWF FanNation Award winners will be announced that night.
Hawaiian Lion vs Dom Vitalli
Anything can happen when these storied rivals collide. One half of the Tribe and one-half of Keepers of the Faith meet in a grudge match. Mat wrestling goes out the window and this will be a fight. Look for a physical contest that could end up anywhere.
Baja Stars Cruiserweight Championship: Danny Limelight (c) vs. Rocketboy
These two young stars are developing a bitter rivalry throughout the southwest and now they fight for Limelight’s Cruiserweight Gold. Both guys like to take chances with a high flying attack, but don’t be fooled. Both men will cross the line if necessary to win, and the way these two feel about each other you can expect it. The assigned official will have to be lenient or we could have a disqualification in seconds.
AWF Unleashed Championship (Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match): Parada (c) vs. Aguila vs P.A.C. (Phillip Arthur Classic) vs Prophet vs Andy Palafox vs Lawrence Tyler
The Unleashed Champion Parada comes into this match with all the momentum including a win against P.A.C. on AWF Crossfire. Two former Unleashed Champions, “The Prince of Lucha” Aguila and Lawrence Tyler, will compete as well as “Awesome” Andy Palafox, and Prophet. Four-Time AWF King Alvaric Reiner, who removed himself from the match, promised someone we know to even the odds for him.
AWF Women’s Championship 4-Way Match: Leslie Iris (c) vs. Ana vs Heather Monroe vs Bryn Thorn
Second Generation luchador Leslie Iris puts her AWF Women’s Title up for grabs against the always dangerous Heather Monroe and rivals Ana and Bryn Thorn. Iris beat Mystique in her most recent title defense and will need a lot more to keep her title Friday night. This is a deep match that anyone could win.
AWF Tag Team Championship: Sinn Bohdi & Funny Bone (c) vs ???
Regardless of who their opponents are, Sinn Bodhi and Funny Bone are tough to prepare for. The look is one thing, but the mental games they play are a whole different one. Don’t get it twisted Bodhi and Bone are tough customers and will bring the fight to whoever’s crazy enough to get in the ring with them.
AWF State Championship: Watson (c) vs. R-Three
Watson is hot with a win over Uptown Andy Brown in a war he takes on the monster R-Three. One of the longest reigning AWF State Champions, Watson has the whole package of size and power. He delivers a devastating spear that finishes fights. R-Three is plenty powerful himself and will look to wear down the Champ. Although with Watson we know he can go late into the match that remains to be seen with R-Three who is primarily a tag competitor. The big man will want to get the match finished quickly, so cardio isn’t a factor.
AWF Heavyweight Championship: Gabriel Gallo (c) vs. Navajo Warrior
These two Arizona legends will meet for all the marbles. The AWF Championship is on the line, and so is their legacy. As members of two of the greatest teams in Arizona history, it goes beyond bragging rights and titles. It’s personal with these two, and neither man will give an inch. This match will be one of the most physical of their careers, and whoever gets their hand raised will know they were in a war. Expect a slugfest.
