Smash Wrestling returns to the Franklin Horner Community Centre for a special holiday show this Sunday, featuring a solid show mixed with Southwestern Ontario and Upstate New York indie stars, as well as a few very special guests. Like many promotions, Smash Wrestling got hit by an injury bug (they had Marko Stunt booked prior to his broken leg) and had to remove PCO from the event due to his new Ring of Honor contract (he was originally slated to face Jimmy Havoc). But the show must go on, and for Smash fans, this card still brings a lot of storytelling to the table with some great action.
Fatal Four Way: Puf vs. Muscle vs. Jim Stryder vs. John Greed
Smash veteran John Greed remains one of the Canadian indie circuit’s most unheralded big men, combining brute force with surprising athleticism. He’s still freshly returned from a family hiatus, but he’s sure to be turning his eyes on the Smash Championship sooner than later. He’s in a four way against some emerging talents on the Smash roster, including Buffalo, New York’s Puf, who has been on a popular run of late with Buffalo’s Empire State Wrestling (ESW), Smash, Limitless and more. The Muscle is flying solo since being fired by Kevin Bennett, but he’s hoping to make a name for himself outside the group. The last member of the four is an emerging talent from London, Ontario in Jim Stryder, and a student of former Smash Champion Tyson Dux, who will be looking to break out with a huge victory.
Sebastian Suave vs. Daniel Garcia
Sebastian Suave and Daniel Garcia continue their Best of 5 series, with the third match on Sunday. The had their first encounter in Quebec with Federation de Lutte Quebecoise at Challenge Accepted, where Suave came up with the first win. Just last week they held the second contest at CTL ALT DEL in London, Ontario, with Suave once again picking up the victory with a sharpshooter, injuring Garcia’s ankle. Suave is the wily veteran, but Daniel Garcia is one of the fastest rising stars from upstate New York, having already appeared on WWE’s 205 Live. Garcia will have to dig down deep to come back from a 2-0 deficit and keep the contest going.
Jody Threat vs. KC Spinelli
Two of Smash’s women’s division come head to head after both came off with solid showings at this year’s CANUSA Classic. Jody Threat pulled the upset over indie veteran Neveah, while KC Spinelli shocked the audience with a big win over IMPACT Knockouts Champion Tessa Blanchard. The two will go head to head to determine who the top women’s competitor in Smash Wrestling truly is.
Jason Kincaid vs. Carter Mason
Oakville, Ontario’s Carter Mason, a student of former IMPACT X-Division Champion Johnny Devine, has been wrestling since the mid-2000s and is a staple of the Canadian indie circuit. Mason was scheduled to face Marko Stunt on Sunday, but sadly, “Mr. Fun Size” broke his leg at GCW‘s Joey Janela’s LA Confidential and is out until 2019. His replacement is someone Mason has faced before, in US indie star Jason Kincaid. Kincaid has been a regular with EVOLVE for the past few years but has spent a good deal of 2018 in Japan with DDT Pro.
Two Butchers & A Blade (Pepper Parks, Andy Williams & Tyler Bateman) vs. Kill/Screen (Scotty “Hacker” O’Shea, Mark Wheeler & Shane Sabre)
Pepper Parks (formerly IMPACT star Braxton Sutter) is recently removed from being Smash Tag Team Champion alongside “Psycho Mike” Rollins in The Well Oiled Machines, but for this fight, he’s turning to his darker side. He’s teaming up with longtime friend Andy Williams (who also plays the guitar for Every Time I Die), who he tags with on the indies with Butcher & The Blade, as well as West Coast star Tyle Bateman. Bateman is the current AWS Champion and has been terrorizing the West Coast in Violence Unlimited with Brody King. They face “Hacker” Scotty O’Shea‘s revamped Kill/Screen squad that features two of the Canadian indie scene’s bright young stars in former Superkick’D Champions Mark Wheeler and Shane Sabre. This will be more of a brawl than a wrestling match.

One man’s departure has led to the opportunity of a lifetime. Originally scheduled to be a bloody war between PCO and Jimmy Havoc, PCO was forced to pull out late last week due to his new exclusive ROH contract. Jimmy Havoc has become a regular with Smash Wrestling when he’s in Canada and his brand of violence has incited many an audience. His opponent will be a young star from the Southwest indies looking to make a statement, in 3-year pro Holden Albright. Albright has worked for Smash, Alpha-1, Barrie Wrestling, and many regional indies, but on Sunday he gets to put his body on the line against one of the fiercest men in the game today.
“Psycho” Mike Rollins vs. Kikutaro
“Psycho Mike” hasn’t fully recovered from losing the tag titles and is acting stranger than usual. Luckily, his opponent on Sunday is just as bizarre. He faces a Japanese legend in Kikutaro, whose comedic style has enamored crowds around the world, from All Japan to DDT Pro, CHIKARA to Bar Wrestling, IMPACT Wrestling to Ring of Honor. This may not be the most technical match on the card, but it has all the ingredients of being the most memorable.
The Pillars (Tarik, Tyson Dux & Brent Banks) vs. The Kevin Bennett Experience (Kevin Bennett, Idris Abraham & Joe Coleman)
The Pillars have taken the reigns of Smash Wrestling, as well as all the gold. Smash Champion Tarik, alongside Smash Tag Team Champions Brent Banks & Tyson Dux, are Smash originals who have become synonymous with Smash Wrestling as a brand. The trio of champions will be uniting on Sunday night to face Kevin Bennett and his new “Experience”, featuring longtime Smash tag team Halal Beefcake, featuring Joe Coleman and Idris Abraham (who was part of the X-Division in IMPACT in 2017). It’s the ultimate battle of good vs. evil in Smash Wrestling, with Bennett looking to stake his claim as Smash’s top dog against an entire kennel of pure breeds.
