Preview: TCW No Escape (10/13/18)

Tasmanian Championship Wrestling from Launceston, Tasmania, Australia, has been the leading promotion in Tasmania. Starting in 2011, the company has heading the charge for pro wrestling on the island. The federation’s next show, No Escape, is taking place on Saturday, October 13th, and features the young Liam Lacey defending the TCW Championship, and a tag team grudge match. Let’s go over everything they’re offer this weekend:

La Flama Blanca vs. Jaxon Parker

This is a rematch of Ground Attack, where Blanca was able to score a pinfall victory over Parker, by rolling him up for the one, two, three. Parker, obviously, wanted a chance to prove himself, and to render that roll up win a fluke. Look for this match to have a clear finish, although it won’t be clean, as Parker will do a little cheating to score a victory against Blanca, and to even out the series, and to set up a stipulation blow off match next time, like a two out of three falls match.
Prediction: Jaxon Parker

Jonestown (Dylan Daniels & Eddie Jones) vs. Brisbane Street Bullies (Lockwood & Alexander)

At the last show in August, Ground Attack, Eddie Jones was challenging Liam Lacey to win back the TCW Championship, when the Bullies interfered and cost Jones the title opportunity. Since, then, they’ve mocked Jonestown, as any good heels would do, and now Jonestown is ready to take it to them. The Bullies are a newer team, having only one win in TCW (because the other team imploded), but getting them involved with Jonestown is the next logical step in pushing this team. This will be a solid match, with good tag team wrestling, but in the end, the new heel team of the Bullies will get the win via dirty tactics, and help push them towards the top of the card.
Prediction: Brisbane Street Bullies

Charli Rose vs. Red Hood

At Ground Attack, Rose teamed up with Daniels to defeat the Bueno Boys, of which Red Hood is a part. Hood however, did not take kindly to the loss, and has challenged Rose to a match here at No Escape. Hood will come out hotheaded, and be aggressive in this bout. Rose will be calm, cool, and collected, and will have the early advantage. Rose, though is the current TCW Queen of Tasmania Champion, having won the title back in June, but has yet to defend it. This match seems like the perfect time for the former champion, Izzy Shaw, to interfere in this match, and set up their return bout. That said, I think Red Hood will get the fluke win due to Shaw.
Prediction: Red Hood

JJ Storm vs. Zeke Andino

Storm and Andino were teaming together at Ground Attack against the Brisbane Street Bullies, when Andino turn on Storm in the middle of the match due to some confusion. The Bullies got the win, and now the two are settling their differences in the ring. These two are going to have a hot match, and will certainly be way more brawling than a technical contest. I think these two could a few matches out of this feud, so I don’t think we’ll get a clean finish here. Either a double disqualification or a double countout will lead to this two having a stipulation blow off down the line. Look for this to heat up in the coming months.
Prediction: No Contest

Steel Chain Match: Cyrus Burns vs. Zakk Archer

Photo: TCW

At Ground Attack, Archer defeated Burns in a one on one contest, but afterwards Burns laid him out with a wrench. So, Archer has asked for and received a weapons match of his choice: a steel chain match. Expect this one to be brutal. This one will see tons of violence, and probably some blood. However, despite Archer being the one chasing vengeance, I think Burns will walk away with a victory in this one, and extend this feud one more match. Look for that one to take this to an even higher level.
Prediction: Cyrus Burns

TCW Championship Match: Liam Lacey (c) vs. Sketch

Photo: TCW

The High Flyin’ Sketch made his return to Tasmania in almost two years at Ground Attack, in a victory over Goran Nikolov. After Lacey claimed no one in the TCW locker room could take the belt from him, Sketch took offense at that, and is out to prove that he can. Lacey has been champion since June, and has been a solid champion. Both of these performers are very young, and demonstrate that the future of Tasmanian wrestling is very bright. This will be the match of the night, with lots of high spots and near falls. These two will steal the show, but Sketch won’t steal the title, and we’ll see Lacey retain the belt, at least on this night. It’s not quite time yet to switch the title.
Prediction: Liam Lacey
