Trevon Diggs 2020 NFL Draft Profile
As the 2020 NFL Draft draws closer and closer, many teams are beginning to look at potential cornerback prospects to draft in April. Very few have more potential than Alabama standout Trevon Diggs. In his college career, Diggs showed that he has the talent to one day be an elite NFL defender. He finished his career at Alabama with 68 tackles, four interceptions, and 17 passes defended. He was also named to the First Team All-SEC for his efforts in the 2019 season.
As a four star recruit out of high school Diggs had his fair share of options for college. He received multiple offers from some of the top programs in the nation including Florida, Georgia, Clemson, and Oklahoma. He ultimately decided that Alabama would give him the best opportunity to succeed given their defensive history. Diggs had his fair share of struggles in his first two years, failing to crack the starting lineup and playing primarily on special teams. He made tremendous strides in his junior season as he was named to the starting lineup and excelled as a cover corner. As a senior, he was one of the top corners in all of college football and is a top prospect in this year’s NFL Draft. Following the conclusion of his senior season, Diggs officially declared for the 2020 NFL Draft.

Bottom Line
Trevon Diggs has the potential to one day become one of the top cornerbacks in all the NFL. His length, physicality, and ball skills will make him one of the highest touted cornerbacks in this year’s draft. However, he will need to improve his tackling and some minor inconsistencies if he wants to become an elite player at the next level. While he does have some flaws, this will not stop a team from taking a chance on him near the end of the first round.
