The Green Bay Packers are expected to sign safety Adrian Amos to a four-year, $37 million contract that includes $21 million over the first two years of the deal. He spent his first four seasons with the Chicago Bears. He will become the latest to sign a lucrative contract in what has been a high-profile free agent safety class.
The #Packers aren’t done: They are also signing #Bears S Adrian Amos, sources say. Two big deals, two huge additions on D. A former rival comes to Green Bay.

Adrian Amos Expected to Sign With Green Bay Packers
Posting at least 62 tackles in each of his first three professional campaigns, the productive defensive back set personal bests in stops (73), passes defended (nine) and interceptions (two) during the 2018 season. Starting a full 16-game schedule for the first time since his rookie year, the playmaking impact of Amos earned him an 82.7 overall grade from analytics site Pro Football Focus (the sixth-highest mark for safeties).
Drafted in the fifth round (142nd overall) in the 2015 NFL Draft, the 25-year-old defender established himself as a consistent contributor on the defensive side of the football. In his first season, Amos tallied 67 tackles, two pass deflections and a sack. Despite his tackle mark dipping to 62 the following year, he defended four passes and forced his first fumble. In a 2017 outing that featured his first career interception and pick-six, Amos was named to our website’s annual Top 10 Pro Bowl Snubs list at season’s end. His on-field productivity was an essential part of Chicago’s returning to its former ways as being the NFL’s most vaunted defensive franchise.
Born in Baltimore, MD, Amos attended Calvert Hall College High School (Towson, MD). Finishing up his prep career, he was rated only as a three-star recruit by Rivals.com. Originally committing to the University of Connecticut, he ultimately signed with Penn State University. Beginning his tenure as a Nittany Lion playing cornerback, he made the switch to safety for his junior season. Amos concluded his 48-game collegiate career with 148 tackles (nine for loss), 15 pass deflections, seven interceptions and three sacks.
