Week 17 of the NFL season will take place on New Year’s Eve. While eight of the 12 playoff berths have been clinched, there is still a lot that needs to be finalized this Sunday, the final day of the regular season. - The Patriots clinch home-field advantage through the AFC playoffs with a win OR a Pittsburgh Steelers loss OR a Patriots tie and a Steelers tie.
Pittsburgh Steelers
- The Steelers have clinched the AFC North and a first-round bye.
- The Steelers clinch home-field advantage through the AFC playoffs with a win AND a Patriots loss or tie OR a Steelers tie and a Patriots loss.
Jacksonville Jaguars
- The Jacksonville Jaguars have clinched the AFC South and will be three number three seed regardless of anything that happens in Week 17.
Kansas City Chiefs
- The Kansas City Chiefs have clinched the AFC West and will be the number four seed regardless of anything that happens in Week 17.
Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens clinch a playoff berth with a win or tie OR a Buffalo Bills loss or tie OR a Tennessee Titans loss or tie.
Tennessee Titans
- The Titans clinch a playoff berth with a win OR a tie AND Bills loss or tie AND a Los Angeles Chargers loss or tie OR Bills loss and Chargers loss
Los Angeles Chargers

- The Saints have clinched a playoff berth.
