There were some rumors that the Houston Texans were looking to trade away their superstar wide receiver, Nico Collins, but they shut that down when they gave Collins a $9 million raise in 2026 and an $8 million raise in 2027. Collins is a free agent after the 2027 season, but he is locked in as quarterback C.J. Stroud’s number one target for the next two seasons. What is the Nico Collins dynasty outlook for the next two years and beyond?
Dynasty Outlook for Texans Wide Receiver Nico Collins
Recent Production
Collins is coming off his best season yet in his career, finishing as the WR8 in PPR leagues with 120 targets, 71 receptions, 1117 receiving yards, and 6 receiving touchdowns (plus a rushing one too). This was his third consecutive season with at least 1000 receiving yards and between 68-80 receptions, and between six and eight touchdowns.
Unfortunately, injuries have been a problem for Collins, never playing more than 15 games in a season. Even with just 15 games, he has been a top 12 PPR WR two times in his career, proving he can be productive even without a full season’s worth of games.
Pro-Bowl WR Nico Collins and the Texans reached agreement today on an adjusted contract that guarantees his salary the next two seasons, and also includes a $9 million cash increase this year and an $8 million cash increase next year, per his agents Drew and Jason Rosenhaus. pic.twitter.com/t0siAeR4jI

Houston Texans Depth Chart and Target Competition
Collins is the clear WR1 on the Texans, but there could be more target competition for Collins than he had in the past. The two second-year receivers, Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel, are looking to make a sophomore season leap. Additionally, Tank Dell should be back sometime in 2026 after missing the entire 2025 season.
The Texans were not great offensively last season and are a defense-first team. They traded for running back David Montgomery in the offseason, suggesting that they want to improve their running game and have that be the focus point of the offense.
➡️My take on Nico Collins for dynasty after the contract update
Houston adjusted Nico’s deal:
✅ Salary guaranteed for the next 2 seasons
✅ $9M cash bump this year
✅ $8M cash bump next year
✅ Still scheduled for free agency in 2028For redraft:
Smash. 🔥For dynasty… https://t.co/5HTCphvfZd

Collins Dynasty Price
According to KeepTradeCut, a website that crowdsources dynasty values from players who use the site, Collins is the WR14. He is ranked right behind Carnell Tate, George Pickens, and Garrett Wilson, while ranked ahead of Chris Olave, Rome Odunze, and Ladd McConkey. This is a reasonable range for Collins with players who are at similar points in their careers. Collins is worth an early first-round pick in dynasty rookie drafts.
What is the Nico Collins Dynasty Outlook?
Collins might be at his peak value in dynasty fantasy football. His range gave his outlook a boost, as there are no threats of him sitting out. However, the Texans do not have a good passing attack. They will rely on their defense and run game to win football games. Expect Higgins, Noel, and Dell to all play a significant role in the offense as they improve.

The Texans showed that they really love Collins with the contract boost, so I expect the Texans and Collins to come to a long-term agreement at some point in the future, keeping Collins in Houston for a long time with Stroud. It is hard to see the Texans offense having enough of a passing attack for Collins to finish top five among wide receivers in the next couple of years.
What to Do With Nico Collins in Dynasty Leagues?
For competing managers, I would not be trying to trade for Collins. There are other players who I would rather have with higher upside than Collins if given up a strong package to get a superstar player. If rebuilding fantasy managers have Collins on their team, I would definitely be trying to trade away Collins for a first-round pick plus a player.
