Mekhi Becton, Guard
2025 team: Los Angeles Chargers
Age entering 2026 season: 27
Becton is another potential reclamation project. He has nothing to lose by signing with Tampa Bay to compete as a backup after being released by the Chargers. Becton has the physical tools and size to excel, and would be worth the risk for Tampa to bring him and compete for a job.
Jadeveon Clowney, Edge
2025 team: Dallas Cowboys
Age entering 2026 season: 33
Clowney still has enough in the gas tank, and he could make the roster as a situational pass rusher for the Buccaneers.
Trevon Diggs, Cornerback
2025 team: Green Bay Packers
Age entering 2026 season: 27
Diggs has had difficulty being on the field for the last three seasons, but he led the league with eleven interceptions in 2021. Taking a shot at resurrecting Diggs’ career could be a gamble worth taking.
Cameron Jordan, Edge
2025 team: New Orleans Saints
Age entering 2026 season: 37
Jordan is a rare free agent, playing remarkably well late in his career. Jordan had 10.5 sacks last season and would be a great addition to the Bucs’ pass rush on obvious passing downs.

David Njoku, Tight End
2025 team: Cleveland Browns
Age entering 2026 season: 30
Njoku does come with some injury concerns, having missed eleven games the past two seasons. He is a huge threat in the red zone and would stretch defenses when he enters the field in two-tight-end sets with Cade Otten.
Jonnu Smith, Tight End
2025 team: Pittsburgh Steelers
Age entering 2026 season: 31
Smith is a solid receiver who excels in yards after the catch. The Bucs’ passing game would be quite the sight if Smith joined Cade Otten on the field in two tight end sets.

Bobby Wagner
2025 team: Washington Commanders
Age entering 2026 season: 36
Wagner brings veteran leadership, and even though Tampa Bay fortified the linebacker class with three free agent signings AND their first two picks in the draft, Wagner could be a great addition to the linebacker group.
Bottom Line on Seven Free Agents Tampa Bay Should Prioritize Signing
Tampa Bay has added five projected starters via free agency and the draft. A sixth new starter will come from the group of Ted Hurst(Wide Receiver 3) or a likely free agent signing at tight end. Jalen McMillan likely steps into the spot Mike Evans held last season, a credit to General Manager Jason Licht. Even though Licht has done a remarkable job with key free agent signings Anzalone, Bredeson, Nunez-Roches, and Robinson, he has time to add a few more pieces. Don’t rule out Licht scouring the waiver wire during training camp and watching for post-June 1 salary cap casualties.
