Khalil Mack Free Agent

Ravens Projected to Sign Chargers Hall of Fame Pass Rusher

Los Angeles Chargers edge defender Khalil Mack is one of the greatest players of his generation, and while he’s not the unstoppable force he used to be, the impending free agent should receive plenty of interest on the open market. While injuries limited him to 12 games, the future Hall of Famer still recorded 5.5 sacks, 32 tackles, six tackles-for-loss, 11 quarterback hits, and a 79.2 PFF grade, the 16th-best mark in the league.

Khalil Mack won’t break the bank as he enters his age-35 season, but the free agent would be a great signing for a contending team looking to add an experienced veteran to an already-talented roster. In a recent article, Dalton Wasserman of Pro Football Focus made his case for the Ravens pursuing the nine-time Pro Bowler.

“Baltimore is in desperate need of pass-rush help after ranking 29th this past season in PFF pass-rush grade, pressure rate, and pass-rush win rate,” Wasserman writes. “The Ravens aren’t blessed with a ton of salary cap space, and they do have several other roster areas to address, so they’ll need to find value on the free agent market.”

PFF: Ravens Should Sign Free Agent Khalil Mack

The logic behind signing Khalil Mack as a free agent is sound. After all, the Ravens are in Super Bowl or bust mode, and they’ll need to improve their pass rush to finally make it to the game’s biggest stage. While this team will likely look for a younger option in the 2026 NFL Draft, Mack would be a great short-term solution for this squad.

It also doesn’t hurt that former Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter is now calling the shots in Baltimore. The duo spent the previous two seasons together, so Mack should be familiar with his defensive scheme and his overall coaching style. All in all, this could be a perfect signing for a team trying to finally get over the hump.
