Tetaiora McMillan Injury Update: Star WR’s Status Revealed For Panthers-Patriots

Carolina Panthers rookie wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan already looks like one of the brightest stars in the league, but a calf injury could sideline him for Week 4. McMillan is officially listed as questionable after not practicing on Wednesday and only participating in limited workouts on Thursday and Friday, but NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport recently provided clarity on the budding wideout.

In a recent tweet, the NFL insider said that Tetairoa McMillan will likely play through the calf injury and suit up for Week 4’s contest against the New England Patriots. While this isn’t official, it means Panthers fans should expect McMillan to play barring a last-second setback.

Tetairoa McMillan Injury Update: Star WR Likely to Play Against Patriots

This is fantastic news for the Carolina Panthers, as McMillan has easily been the best and most consistent member of the passing attack. Starting in all three games, the Arizona product has recorded 14 receptions for 216 yards on 27 targets. His best game came in Week 2 when he recorded six receptions for 100 yards as the Panthers nearly pulled off a last-second come-from-behind victory against the Arizona Cardinals.

McMillan’s presence on the field should give football fans one of the best cornerback-receiver matchups of the week, as Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez will make his 2025 debut after battling an offseason hamstring injury. When on the field, Gonzalez is one of the best cornerbacks in the league and has the raw talent to lock down just about anyone. Only time will tell if he’ll follow McMillan around the formation, and who will win their matchup.

At 1-2, the Panthers are fighting to keep up in one of the league’s weaker divisions. The Buccaneers are 3-0 following three consecutive last-second wins, while the Falcons (1-2) and Saints (0-3) both have losing records.
