Quinnen Williams Trade

Jets Latest Loss Could Signal Massive Trade

Quinnen Williams is one of the best players on the New York Jets, but the team could trade him after their disastrous 0-2 start to the season. Entering the season with a new coaching staff and quarterback, New York believed it could finally make their long-awaited return to the playoffs in 2025. Unfortunately, that seems unlikely after dropping their first two games.

With this in mind, the Jets could consider a Quinnen Williams trade, as the star defensive tackle may not be in the team’s long-term future. While he’s still a good player, the Cowboys tried to include him in the Micah Parsons trade before he ended up with the Packers. This suggests he is available for the right offer, and New York might prefer draft picks to their homegrown talent.

New York Jets Could Trade Quinnen Williams After Slow Start

While Micah Parsons ultimately ended up with the Green Bay Packers, the New York Jets were in the running as owner Jerry Jones shopped the All-Pro across the league. According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, Jones proposed sending Parsons to the Jets for a package headlined by Williams. The Jets rejected that offer, but they could change their mind given the poor start to their season.

Historically speaking, making the playoffs after a 0-2 start is incredibly rare, and it might be time for New York to invest in another young quarterback. Justin Fields is a highly volatile quarterback who looked like a star in Week 1 but crashed and burned in Week 2. If his concussion is serious, then this team won’t stand a chance of making the postseason. By agreeing to a Quinnen Williams trade, New York could receive enough draft capital to ensure they have the ability to move up and select their quarterback of the future in the 2026 NFL Draft.
