Week 2 of the NFL Season was a high-scoring affair.. It is time to look ahead to Week 3. Here are the Week 3 quarterback rankings for fantasy football. J.J. McCarthy and Joe Burrow are assumed to be out this week, while Justin Fields, Brock Purdy, and Jayden Daniels are questionable with injuries.
Quarterback Rankings Week 3 Fantasy Football
Tier 1: The Big 4
| Rank | Player | Opponent |
| 1 | Josh Allen | Miami Dolphins |
| 2 | Lamar Jackson | Detroit Lions |
| 3 | Jayden Daniels* | Las Vegas Raiders |
| 4 | Jalen Hurts | Los Angeles Rams |
The Big 4 quarterbacks are the best of the best in fantasy football:
- After being the overall QB1 in Week 1, Allen had a quieter day in Week 2, scoring just 11.82 fantasy points and finishing outside the top 20 of quarterbacks. The Bills had a big lead early, so Allen did not have to throw often. Allen has a great matchup against a struggling Dolphins defense in Week 3 on Thursday Night Football.
- Jackson had four passing touchdowns in the Week 2 victory. He has two straight games with at least 26 fantasy points. He has a fun matchup with the Lions on Monday Night Football to close out Week 3.
- Daniels struggled against the Packers, but he still finished with 19 fantasy points and has a much better matchup with the Raiders this week. However, he has a knee sprain and is questionable for the game.
Tier 2: Low-End QB1s
| Rank | Player | Opponent |
| 5 | Dak Prescott | Chicago Bears |
| 6 | Patrick Mahomes | New York Giants |
| 7 | Baker Mayfield | New York Jets |
| 8 | Justin Fields* | Tampa Bay Buccaneers |
| 9 | Justin Herbert | Denver Broncos |
| 10 | Kyler Murray | San Francisco 49ers |
These guys are low-end QB1s, and I feel comfortable starting any of them as my QB1 this week:
- Prescott put on a show, throwing for over 360 passing yards and scoring 22 fantasy points in the victory. The Cowboys take on a Bears defense that just gave up five passing touchdowns to Jared Goff last week. Prescott is a top-five quarterback in Week 3.
- Fields struggled mightily in Week 2 before leaving the game early with a concussion. If he can clear protocol, he gets a shaky Buccaneers defense to try to get back on track.
Tier 3: High-End QB2s
| Rank | Player | Opponent |
| 11 | Bo Nix | Los Angeles Chargers |
| 12 | Jared Goff | Baltimore Ravens |
| 13 | Jordan Love | Cleveland Browns |
| 14 | Drake Maye | Pittsburgh Steelers |
| 15 | Daniel Jones | Tennessee Titans |
This tier consists of the high-end QB2:
- Nix got back on track after a disastrous Week 1. He threw for three touchdowns and only had one turnover.
- Goff and the Lions showed that they were not just Ben Johnson merchants, winning the revenge game over the Bears. Goff had 334 passing yards and five passing touchdowns, as the Lions put up over 50 points. Goff was the overall QB1 for the week. Goff has a decent matchup against the Ravens in Week 3.
- “Indiana Jones” has led the Colts to a 2-0 start to the season. He threw for over 300 yards and has two straight top ten fantasy finishes to his season. He should be picked up in all fantasy leagues and is becoming a borderline must-start depending on who the other options are.

Tier 4: Superflex Options Only
| Rank | Player | Opponent |
| 16 | Caleb Williams | Dallas Cowboys |
| 17 | Michael Penix Jr | Carolina Panthers |
| 18 | Brock Purdy* | Arizona Cardinals |
| 19 | Aaron Rodgers | New England Patriots |
| 20 | Geno Smith | Washington Commanders |
| 21 | C.J. Stroud | Jacksonville Jaguars |
| 22 | Russell Wilson | Kansas City Chiefs |
| 23 | Sam Darnold | New Orleans Saints |
| 24 | Matthew Stafford | Philadelphia Eagles |
These players are options only in very deep leagues or SuperFlex leagues:
- Rodgers came back to earth after an amazing Week 1 performance. He had just one touchdown compared to two interceptions in the Week 2 loss to the Seahawks. Rodgers will look to get back on track against the Patriots in Week 3.
- “Let Russ Cook!” After a dreadful Week 1, Wilson looked like vintage Russ, throwing for 450 yards and three touchdowns. However, a costly interception in overtime cost the Giants the game. Wilson finished with over 30 fantasy points, and plays the Chiefs team in a surprising battle between 0-2 teams on Sunday Night Football next week.

3 passing touchdowns
1 interception
123 ratingVintage Russ. People were calling for him to be benched all week and he responded with an all-time performance. An unfortunate ending though pic.twitter.com/VBhbykJkNe
