The NFL season is less than two weeks away, and fantasy football drafts are wrapping up. Here is the full list of the fantasy football quarterback rankings for the 2025 season.
2025 Season Rankings Quarterbacks Fantasy Football
Tier 1: The Big 5
| Rank | Player | Team |
| 1 | Lamar Jackson | Baltimore Ravens |
| 2 | Josh Allen | Buffalo Bills |
| 3 | Jayden Daniels | Washington Commanders |
| 4 | Jalen Hurts | Philadelphia Eagles |
| 5 | Joe Burrow | Cincinnati Bengals |
These are the clear best five fantasy football quarterbacks for the 2025 season:
- Jackson led all players in fantasy points last season, and the Ravens have one of the most dynamic offenses in the NFL. Jackson comes in first on the quarterback rankings this year.
- Allen has finished as a top-two fantasy quarterback in five consecutive seasons. There is no reason why that would stop in 2025.
- Daniels was a rookie sensation and finished as the overall QB5, despite leaving early in two games. The Commanders improved by adding Deebo Samuel. Daniels is a top-three fantasy quarterback.
- The “Tush Push” was not banned, so Hurts should be able to have double-digit rushing touchdowns for the fifth consecutive year.
- Burrow is the only non-dual-threat quarterback of the bunch, but with how bad the Bengals’ defense is, he will have to throw a ton to keep up. Burrow’s passing volume is enough to put him in the Big Five of the fantasy football quarterbacks rankings.
Tier 2: QBs Drafted at Their Ceilings
| Rank | Player | Team |
| 6 | Patrick Mahomes | Kansas City Chiefs |
| 7 | Baker Mayfield | Tampa Bay Buccaneers |
| 8 | Kyler Murray | Arizona Cardinals |
| 9 | Bo Nix | Denver Broncos |
These players are in a tough position with their ADPs, as they are being drafted at their ceilings. Without injuries to the top five guys, it is very difficult to see how anyone else will perform better than them, making this tier of quarterbacks one to avoid in fantasy drafts due to a lack of value. Fantasy football drafting is all about value, and there is not much value and upside among these players. Therefore, it is better to take a player at another position instead and wait to take a quarterback later.
- Mahomes was the QB11 last season and will be dealing with the suspension of Rashee Rice.
- Mayfield was the QB4, as he had a career season. However, negative touchdown regression is expected for the upcoming season.
- Murray has struggled to get back to form since his ACL injury, and was just the QB10 last season.
- Nix was the QB7 in his rookie season, but how much higher can he climb?
Tier 3: Lots of Upside and Potential
| Rank | Player | Team |
| 10 | Justin Fields | New York Jets |
| 11 | Dak Prescott | Dallas Cowboys |
| 12 | Brock Purdy | San Francisco 49ers |
| 13 | Caleb Williams | Chicago Bears |
| 14 | Drake Maye | New England Patriots |
This tier contains players with a lot more upside and potential than the previous tier, and they are going much later in fantasy drafts:
- Fields is struggling to throw the football in camp, but has been a top ten fantasy quarterback whenever he gets the chance to start.
- Prescott was putting up MVP numbers the last time he was healthy. The Cowboys improved their passing game, while their rushing attack is not expected to be strong.
- Williams and Maye are two sophomore quarterbacks with dual-threat abilities, with new head coaches and offensive coordinators looking to make the next leap.
Drake Maye was the QB14 in fantasy points per game in the weeks he was a starter.
He also averaged more rushing yards per game than Josh Allen.
He has massive upside, and we're drafting him at his floor. So why is he being drafted as the QB17? pic.twitter.com/VypXQrrx08

Tier 4: Late-Round Sleepers
| Rank | Player | Team |
| 15 | Jared Goff | Detroit Lions |
| 16 | Trevor Lawrence | Jacksonville Jaguars |
| 17 | Jordan Love | Green Bay Packers |
| 18 | Justin Herbert | Los Angeles Chargers |
| 19 | Bryce Young | Carolina Panthers |
| 20 | C.J. Stroud | Houston Texans |
These quarterbacks are the ones going late in 1-QB fantasy drafts, but there is still value to be had:
- Lawrence has a new head coach, Liam Coen, who was excellent with the Bucs and Mayfield last season. Lawrence also has the best group of weapons around him with the addition of Travis Hunter.
- Young had three top-eight fantasy finishes in his final six games played in 2024. He really turned it around after being benched at the end of the season.
- Stroud was the QB11 in just 15 games played in his rookie season in 2023, but he struggled in 2024. A new offensive coordinator and a healthier wide receiver room should help him in 2025.
Tier 5: Undrafted Darlings
| Rank | Player | Team |
| 21 | J.J. McCarthy | Minnesota Vikings |
| 22 | Michael Penix Jr. | Atlanta Falcons |
| 23 | Tua Tagovailoa | Miami Dolphins |
| 24 | Geno Smith | Las Vegas Raiders |
| 25 | Sam Darnold | Seattle Seahawks |
| 26 | Cam Ward | Tennessee Titans |
| 27 | Daniel Jones | Indianapolis Colts |
There are a lot of unknowns about the quarterbacks in this tier, but if they break out, they can provide excellent value in the final rounds of drafts or off the waiver wire:
- McCarthy and Ward have never played a snap in the NFL, while Penix has only played in three games.
- Smith, Darnold, and Jones are all on new teams.
- Tagovailoa just can’t stay healthy.
Tier 6: Bottom of the Barrel

| Rank | Player | Team |
| 28 | Matthew Stafford | Los Angeles Rams |
| 29 | Aaron Rodgers | Pittsburgh Steelers |
| 30 | Russell Wilson | New York Giants |
| 31 | Joe Flacco | Cleveland Browns |
| 32 | Tyler Shough/Spencer Rattler | New Orleans Saints |
There really is no path to fantasy relevance for these guys unless in a super deep league:
- Stafford is dealing with back injuries.
- Rodgers can not move well in the pocket, providing zero rushing upside, and the Steelers offense is not expected to be great.
- Wilson and Flacco probably won’t make it through the full season as the starter.
- The Saints quarterback situation is a mess.
Tier 7: Not Current Starters, But Could Shine if They Get the Chance
| Rank | Player | Team |
| 33 | Anthony Richardson | Indianapolis Colts |
| 34 | Jaxson Dart | New York Giants |
| 35 | Jalen Milroe | Seattle Seahawks |
| 36 | Shedeur Sanders | Cleveland Browns |
None of these four guys is the starting quarterback for their teams to begin the year, but if they get a chance to start, they could become fantasy relevant:
- Richardson’s upside is insanely high, but he just can’t stay healthy.
- Dart and Milroe are both rookies who have the dual-threat ability as well.
Jaxson Dart balled out in the preseason:

🎯 424 total yards
🎯 4 total TDs
