Breaking: 3 “Very Interested” Teams Fighting For Von Miller

Eight-time Pro Bowler Von Miller is still a free agent, but a recent report suggests the two-time Super Bowl champion and future Hall of Famer will find a new team before long. While Miller is no longer the dominant force he was during the peak of his career, the 2024 season proved he can still be an effective player in the right role. Appearing in 13 games without making a start, Miller finished the season with six sacks, 17 tackles, four tackles-for-loss, and seven quarterback hits while helping the Buffalo Bills make the AFC Championship Game.

This situational production wasn’t enough for Buffalo to justify his high salary, but it shows he can still help the right team. NFL Network’s Brian Baldinger recently said “three very interested teams” are pursuing Miller, and while he didn’t say who those teams were, we can make an educated guess on the subject.

“I think Von feels like there’s a pretty good chance he’s going to sign either before camp or – I mean, I don’t think Von’s too crazy about going to training camp,” Baldinger said. “Most guys that age aren’t. They know what they need to do. He looks in great shape. So, I would say he’s going to get signed here.”

Report: 3 Teams Fighting Over Von Miller

Who Are the Three Teams?

Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers should have Super Bowl aspirations following an impressive first season under head coach Jim Harbaugh. While the team spent the offseason improving the offensive line and running game, they could use another sitautional pass rusher. Khalil Mack remains among the league’s elite, but Tuli Tuipulotu is nothing special and the rest of the depth chart leaves something to be desired. Von Miller is no longer an every-down player, but he could be an effective situational rusher.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs enter the 2025 season hoping to bounce back from an embarrassing Super Bowl loss and fend off an improved AFC West.  Right now, the team has two reliable pass rushers in defensive tackle Chris Jones and edge defender George Karlaftis. These two are enough to give Kansas City a decent pass rush, but they could use a third option like Von Miller. Perhaps Charles Omenihu can find his old form now that he’s further removed from his ACL injury, but Miller could be valuable insurance in case he continues to struggle.

Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens excel at finding once-great veterans and squeezing out one or two final seasons of dominance. Baltimore might have the most talented roster in football, but the Ravens could use all the help they can get to finally emerge from the loaded AFC. Head coach Jim Harbaugh prefers to rotate his edge defenders to keep everyone fresh throughout the 17-game season, and Von Miller could be a welcome complementary piece to Odafe Oweh and Kyle Van Noy.
