2-Time Super Bowl Champion Signs Contract With Las Vegas Raiders

Roberts entered the offseason on the heels of another strong season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Appearing in all 17 games, the linebacker finished the year with one sack, 46 tackles, five tackles-for-loss, four quarterback hits, and a 79.7 PFF grade, the seventh-best mark out of 83 eligible players. The Steelers made the playoffs and finished with a 10-7 record but ultimately couldn’t go deep in the playoffs, losing to the Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card round.

Elandon Roberts originally entered the league as a sixth-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Selected by the New England Patriots, the Houston product outplayed his draft capital and earned a decent role as a rookie. Appearing in 13 games while making five starts, the rookie recorded 45 tackles and two tackles-for-loss while helping the team win Super Bowl 51 against the Atlanta Falcons.

The linebacker earned a starting role in 2017 and 2018 but became a backup in 2019 following the return of Jamie Collins. After his four seasons in New England, Roberts followed his former linebackers coach, Brian Flores, to Miami. While he got off to a slow start, he became a key contributor in the 2021 and 2022 seasons before leaving for Pittsburgh in 2023.

Since signing his rookie contract, Elandon Roberts has played in 140 games while making 105 starts. While on the field, the linebacker has recorded 604 tackles, 54 tackles-for-loss, 14.5 sacks, and 36 quarterback hits and has won two Super Bowls with the New England Patriots. Incidentally, he also caught Tom Brady’s penultimate touchdown pass with the Patriots while playing fullback in place of an injured James Develin.
