Keenan Allen Contract

BREAKING: Chargers Reunite With 6-Time Pro Bowler

12-year veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen signed a new contract with the Los Angeles Chargers. Allen, a former third-round pick, spent the 2024 season with the Chicago Bears but has also played for the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers.

Keenan Allen, Los Angeles Chargers, Agree to Contract

After spending the first 11 years of his career with the Chargers, first-year head coach Jim Harbaugh traded Keenan Allen and his bloated contract to the Chicago Bears midway through the offseason. Paired with first-overall pick Caleb Williams, Allen joined D.J. Moore and fellow first-round rookie Rome Odunze to form one of the deepest receiver rooms in football. While the team missed the playoffs, Allen finished the season with 70 receptions for 744 yards and seven touchdowns.

Keenan Allen originally entered the league as a third-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Selected by the San Diego Chargers, Allen immediately developed a rapport with Philip Rivers. Appearing in 15 games, the California product finished his inaugural season with 71 receptions for 1,046 yards and eight touchdowns while playing a pivotal role in the team’s playoff run.

Allen had another strong season in 2014 before battling injuries in 2015 and 2016. Limited to just eight games over those two years, Allen’s career appeared to be at a crossroads. Rather than falling off, the wide receiver responded with the best stretch of his career. The wideout stayed healthy in 2017, recording 102 receptions for 1,393 yards and six touchdowns while earning the first Pro Bowl selection of his career.

This was no one-year fluke, as Allen made six Pro Bowl teams from 2017 to 2023, with his lone exclusion coming in 2022 when injuries limited him to just 10 games. Whether it was Rivers or Justin Herbert, Allen remained one of the league’s most consistent receivers thanks to his impressive route-running prowess.

Since signing his rookie contract, Keenan Allen has appeared in 154 games while making 149 starts. While on the field, the California product has recorded 974 receptions for 11,274 yards and 66 touchdowns.
