11-year NFL veteran guard Zack Martin has announced his retirement. Martin, a former first-round pick, spent the entirety of his career with the Dallas Cowboys.

Zack Martin Announces Retirement
Zack Martin didn’t quite play up to his usual standard in 2024, but he remained a reliable guard while on the field. Starting and appearing in 10 games, the seven-time First-Team All-Pro finished his season with a 65.6 PFF grade, the 32nd-best mark out of 75 eligible players. Unfortunately, injuries prematurely ended his season and forced him to miss the final few games of the year. The Cowboys themselves had an equally disappointing season, as the team missed the playoffs despite entering the year with Super Bowl aspirations.
Martin originally entered the NFL as a first-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Selected by the Dallas Cowboys, the Notre Dame product immediately made an impact for America’s Team. Starting and appearing in all 16 games, Martin earned Pro Bowl and First-Team All-Pro honors while finishing second in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting. Dallas had a remarkable season, winning the NFC East and making it to the divisional round before losing to the Green Bay Packers in the infamous “Dez Caught It” game.
For the next few years, Martin maintained his spot along the starting offensive line and played an instrumental role on one of the league’s most dominant units. With the exception of an injury-plagued 2020, Martin made the Pro Bowl and earned First- or Second-Team All-Pro honors every year from 2014 to 2023.
Since signing his rookie contract, Zack Martin has started and appeared in 162 games, all for the Cowboys. While on the field, the Notre Dame product has established himself as one of the league’s premier guards and earned a spot on the Hall of Fame All-2010s Team.
