Davante Adams’ Best Landing Spots for Fantasy Football

Davante Adams has requested a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders. Here are three teams that would benefit Adams for fantasy purposes.

It was only a matter of time, but Davante Adams officially wants out of the Las Vegas Raiders organization which raises questions about his fantasy value. While it’s uncertain whether the Raiders even trade the three-time All-Pro receiver, it’s safe to say general manager Tom Telesco would rather get something over losing him in the offseason for free. Adams has an opt out at the end of this season in his current deal.

Teams trying to trade for Adams are short on receivers, but this article is going to look at a different perspective. Below are three teams that would see his fantasy value increase.

Three Teams That Benefit Davante Adams for Fantasy Football

Note: The teams mentioned below are reviewed solely for fantasy football purposes. Trades to these teams are not a guarantee or may not make sense from the Raiders perspective.

Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City is searching for a new receiver with Rashee Rice out indefinitely. The Raiders won’t make a trade to a team in their own division, but Adams could be a top-10 receiver in Andy Reid’s offense. He’s currently averaging 8.97 fantasy points in standard leagues and 14.97 points in PPR leagues.

Adams would immediately take over as the main target for Patrick Mahomes who targeted his top receiver (Rice) 25% of the time through four weeks. Keep in mind that number would’ve been higher if Rice didn’t get injured so early against the Chargers.

In the 2020 COVID season, Adams posted the best season of his career with 1374 yards and 18 touchdowns. Aaron Rodgers targeted him 29% of the time, so he can certainly handle 25%. Adams and Mahomes have the potential to be one of the best duos in the league if this deal were to happen.

Green Bay Packers

The Packers may not need another body in the receiver room with the likes of Jayden Reed, Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs. However, they need a legitimate WR1, and Adams would certainly give them that boost. The honeymoon phase also wouldn’t exist with Adams previously playing at Lambeau Field.

Reed might be the top target in the Green Bay offense, but Jordan Love could certainly benefit from having Adams at his disposal. Doubs and Watson have struggled so far this season, combining for just 249 yards through four games.

Green Bay’s offense could certainly benefit from having Adams on the opposite side of Reed, and the former Packer would certainly see his fantasy production increase. He might not be as young as he once was, but Adams averaged 240 fantasy points in PPR leagues while playing for the Green and Gold.

Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders may just be the best option for Adams from a fantasy perspective (outside of Kansas City). Besides Terry McLaurin, there’s not a big-name target in the receiver room for Jayden Daniels. The Commanders offense becomes much more dynamic with McLaurin on one side and Adams on the other.

Zach Ertz has the second-most targets in Washington’s offense which tells you everything you need to know about the receiver room. McLaurin owns a 26% target share as the top receiver so even if Adams gets slightly less, he can certainly post strong numbers with Daniels who is slowly but figuring it out in the NFL.

Adams’ fantasy value in the Commanders offense would be higher than it ever was in Las Vegas. The quarterback issue would be resolved and while he may not post numbers like he did in 2020, they would be better than what we saw from him last year and so far this season.
