Brock Purdy has taken the reins in San Francisco’s offense, and he made his statement in fantasy football year. He showcased that he can be one of the best options to have for fantasy owners, but how does Purdy replicate his success from 2023?
2024 Fantasy Football Profile: Brock Purdy
2023 in Review
Purdy finished last season as the QB6 in total points right behind Jordan Love and finished as the QB8 for points per week behind Kirk Cousins. Either way you slice the cake, Purdy was a Top-10 fantasy quarterback in 2023. While his passing yards per game wasn’t the most consistent, he only threw for less than 200 yards once. On top of that, Purdy had nine weeks where he threw multiple touchdown passes in one game that showcased his talent.
He’s been tagged as a “game manager” most of his career, but most game managers don’t post the numbers he does. In his first full year, he threw for over 4,000 yards and had a touchdown-to-interception ratio of 2.8:1. That number would’ve been much higher if he didn’t throw four interceptions against the Ravens in Week 16. He threw a touchdown pass in 14 of the 16 games he played in showing he’s much more than a game manager.
2024 Projection
Purdy enters the 2024 season just outside the top 10 quarterbacks on ESPN and here at Last Word on Sports. While that may come as a surprise after the season he produced last year, much more goes into the rankings than copying and pasting the top finishers from 2023.

An area that will cause Purdy to struggle that’s out of his control is the 49ers schedule. San Francisco has the second toughest schedule among quarterbacks which will cause him to climb an uphill battle from the beginning.
On the flip side, the 49ers offense is running it back with the same group of skill players. Brandon Aiyuk seems more likely than ever before to not be traded, so it will be a three-headed monster at receiver with him, Deebo Samuel and Ricky Pearsall. That doesn’t even include George Kittle or Christian McCaffrey out of the backfield. The 49ers offense is going to be one of the best once again this year, so Purdy will still produce well for fantasy purposes.
Brock Purdy Fantasy Football ADP
Purdy’s ADP currently sits at 100 with a range of 58-105. It’s a bit unusual for a player of Purdy’s caliber to have the ADP be so close to the tail end of the range. Those who are taking Purdy in rounds 5-6 are either in superflex leagues that change the entire landscape of drafting quarterbacks or are really high on him this year.
Right now, his ADP has him being drafted just ahead of Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels which sees him being taken in rounds 9-10. That’s great value for Purdy, and it shouldn’t change too much between now and when the season starts. For that price, he’s well worth the pick and is a viable option to be a starting quarterback. If you draft him as a backup, consider draft day your lucky day.
