The Carolina Panthers or Baltimore Ravens may pursue five-time Pro Bowler running back, Alvin Kamara in a trade this upcoming midseason. According to a report, the Browns could look into trading for Kamara if Nick Chubb‘s injuries worry the team after suffering another knee injury last season. Cleveland may start to bring Kamara in if the load is too much on Chubb and they want to ease him back into things without the pressure of putting too many snaps on his return. Kamara may no longer be in his prime as he’s getting older but his dynamic abilities could be useful for plenty of offenses that utilize receiving running backs.

The Browns are in the middle of rebuilding mode so it’s important that they want to keep Chubb healthy and the only way to do so is to bring in someone like Kamara to share the snaps. Kamara can be an extra receiver on offense if the Browns would like to utilize him like that as well. If he can still do half of what he’s been doing with the Saints then he would be a great asset for this offense. Kamara may even emerge as the No. 1 running back if they feel comfortable putting Chubb on the back burner to give him more time recovering from his knee.

However, the Panthers are still looking for one more running back before this upcoming season after the Miles Sanders trade rumors and Rashaad Penny. It would leave Chuba Hubbard and incoming running back Jonathan Brooks but some veteran insurance would help. The Ravens are still looking for a backup and Derrick Henry being a physical runner, it would make sense to pair him with Kamara who has receiving abilities. It would be like a two-set package.

Other Potential Trade Fits

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys running back looks horrendous on paper other than bringing back Ezekiel Elliott in the mix. However, even bringing him in doesn’t promise that there will be any improvement since Tony Pollard is not returning. It was already lackluster last season but it’s looking to be worse since Royce Freeman may be a cut candidate and Rico Dowdle has been unproductive. Who do they have other than these three running backs?

They don’t have any options and Elliott isn’t in his prime so they might want to try their chances at a healthy Kamara if he becomes available. He provides what the Cowboys need as another receiver since they don’t have anyone other than CeeDee Lamb who is already holding out. They need to get creative about cap space since they still need to extend Dak Prescott as well.

Kansas City Chiefs

Isiah Pacheco and Kamara on the same team would be like a dream for Kansas City, especially for Patrick Mahomes. They both have similar characteristics and have the experience to lead the team again for their third consecutive Super Bowl. It’s still shocking to a lot of fans that Jerick McKinnon isn’t coming back but Clyde Edwards-Helaire somehow was able to return. However, if they want a more championship-style McKinnon then they bring in Kamara for that.

Los Angeles Chargers

Jim Harbaugh wants a strong running game but the only person in the backfield that could bring that promise is Joshua Kelley but he’s only the No. 3 starter. However, they were able to bring in Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins but they have a huge list of injuries. It doesn’t give Justin Herbert enough running power if both of their running starters were to go down again.
