The Kansas City Chiefs and Carolina Panthers are favorites for $98 million trade candidate, Marshon Lattimore. According to a report, one source says the Green Bay Packers are a trade destination for the veteran cornerback even though there are other fits. The Packers may have some questions at the position but this trade may make sense to pair with Jaire Alexander to create a high-talent secondary. However, Lattimore isn’t the same player he was when coming into this league so it may be safe to ring chase in his career.

Bleacher Report made seven bold predictions including the Saints trading away Lattimore this upcoming NFL Training Camp. It marks the last window before the regular season which gives teams one more opportunity if they want to trade a player. The coaches can see what the athletes do on the field this month with their pads on so it could determine whether or not they will pull a trade. Lattimore isn’t getting any younger so the longer they wait, the decrease of value they’ll get in return for him.

The Chiefs are still in the market for a veteran cornerback since trading away L’Jarius Sneed. New Orleans is in cap hell so it shouldn’t surprise anyone if they move on. It would relieve a lot for the Saints to make future moves to improve their roster, including their offense. Kansas City may not be able to afford Lattimore but they could take a gamble to find a potential replication of Sneed.

However, the Panthers are in the same mix for a cornerback. Carolina has been active on their offense but hasn’t been able to bring in Stephon Gilmore on a contract despite a visit. Here are some other potential trade fits for Lattimore.

Other Potential Trade Fits

Baltimore Ravens

Some sources say the Ravens are looking to add safety help before this upcoming season but it should include the entire secondary. They may have Marlon Humphrey on one side of the ball but no one with reliable experience on the other end. Brandon Stephens has big shoes to fill this year but it may be safe for Baltimore to bring in someone like Lattimore for veteran insurance. Humphrey can’t do it alone and having a veteran on the other end could be what lacks this defense.

The loss of Geno Stone this offseason will reveal their flaws if they don’t act quickly and they may end up as true contenders if they make one last splash trade. The Titans and Texans were able to do it this offseason and the Ravens are one trigger away from doing the same.

Los Angeles Chargers

It’s not the biggest need for the Chargers but they did a high-risk Kristian Fulton this offseason who has an excellent track record of injuries. Asante Samuel Jr. looks to be the only elite cornerback on paper this upcoming year so it makes sense for the team to bring in Lattimore once they have enough cap space for it. It’ll probably be too late to bring him in since he’ll be in a new team already by the time the Chargers have more cap space. However, if they want to take a gamble then they could do so.

Dallas Cowboys

Everyone assumes that the Cowboys might seem safe with the cornerback position considering Trevon Diggs is coming back this upcoming year. This isn’t the case since letting go of Stephon Gilmore gave this secondary a boost in productivity. It was truly showing through what DaRon Bland was able to prove in his rookie year so it’s hard to predict how this secondary will operate. Lattimore is too pricey but he provides immediate help to replace Gilmore’s departure for the rest of his career.
