Here is how the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers are among favorites to land former third-round pick, Dyami Brown.

The Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers are favorites to land former third-round pick, Dyami Brown. According to a report, the Commanders may be ready to unload on the wideout that would bring Brandon Aiyuk from the 49ers. However, it doesn’t seem likely that would happen since San Francisco isn’t looking to trade either Aiyuk or Deebo Samuel. The safe decision may be to put Brown on the trade block to see which team would best fit him and that would be the Chiefs or the Chargers in this scenario.

Brown isn’t a needle-mover after three underwhelming seasons with the Commanders but the North Carolina product can still produce. He has specific traits like blocking aggression and deep speed that could translate to any offense that needs rotational depth. Brown still has upside for the Commanders but it’s safe to assume his time is almost up and it shouldn’t surprise anyone if the team trades him. He’s been showing glimpses of becoming a big-play threat but nothing special to change the landscape of a team’s offense so this is one to watch.

The Commanders are bringing in a selection of Luke McCaffrey which is already putting him on the pedestal in front of Brown. They could move on to give McCaffrey more free time on the field to see what he can produce come the preseason. Brown has been failing to make an impact and has been dropping crucial balls last season so it’s a matter of time before the team trades him. The Chargers need some type of life after signing just DJ Chark this free agency to reinforce the departure of Mike Williams and Keenan Allen.

The Chiefs need a playmaker to accommodate Marquise Brown. So he would be a fit there too.

Other Potential Trade Fits

New Orleans Saints

The Saints don’t have a lot of reliability in their offense to see a difference in Derek Carr’s play so it’s hard to imagine that he will improve. Chris Olave is probably his only go-to target while most have to see what Rashid Shaheed can provide as far as stability as a pass catcher. Someone needs to be a third option for Carr and that could be Brown even though he doesn’t show glimpses of potential. He still has that versatility and speed to show for in a new system and a fresh start is something that wouldn’t hurt. A.T. Perry was showing some promise as a rookie last season but competition wouldn’t hurt.

Brown wouldn’t cost the Saints much either since the team is still in a salary cap crisis. The Saints don’t have anything to lose but to add a new wideout to bolster this offense.

Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens may need to start thinking about the future since the only two reliable pass catchers are Zay Flowers and Mark Andrews. However, they are surprisingly extending Rashod Bateman to a new deal so some competition may do in front of Nelson Agholor. Baltimore has Agholor to be around as a veteran piece so they may move on from him next season to bring in Brown as a homegrown weapon. Another weapon for Lamar Jackson shouldn’t be a bother for John Harbaugh if it means establishing more talent around their two-time MVP.

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys have been making questionable decisions this offseason after adding no type of free agent signing to their wideout depth. It may be safe to look into Brown as a young talent who can come in on a one-year deal. CeeDee Lamb’s future looks to be in limbo and Brandin Cooks hasn’t been doing anything special. The wide receiver outlook doesn’t look to be playoff worthy so any wideout that joins America’s team is something they need.
