The Atlanta Falcons traded a fifth-round pick for the cornerback in the hopes that a change of scenery could bring out the best in the former top-three selection. That didn’t go according to plan, as Jeff Okudah had another rough season during the final year of his contract. Appearing in 13 games while making nine starts, the Ohio State product finished his season with a 50.5 PFF grade, the 114th-best mark out of 127 eligible players. According to Pro Football Focus, Okudah allowed 15.4 yards per reception and a 92.9 passer rating when targeted.

Jeff Okudah originally entered the league as the third-overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Selected by the Detroit Lions, the Ohio State product got off to a rough start during the final year of the Matt Patricia Era. Appearing in nine games while making six starts, the rookie finished his inaugural season with a 42.5 PFF grade while allowing 15.2 yards per reception and a 112 passer rating when targeted.

Okudah never had a chance to redeem himself from this subpar campaign, as he suffered an Achilles injury in Week 1. In total, he played in just 48 snaps for the entire season, recording four tackles, and one pass defended.

The cornerback returned to the lineup and finally stayed healthy for a full season. Starting in 15 games, the Ohio State product finished the season with seven passes defended 73 tackles, and one interception.

Since signing his rookie contract, Jeff Okudah has appeared in 38 games while making 31 starts. While on the field, the Ohio State product has recorded two interceptions, 168 tackles, seven tackles-for-loss, and one forced fumble.
