Week 2 Spread Bets

The 5 Best Week 2 Spread Bets

Week 2 of the NFL is just a few days away, and oddsmakers across the country have posted their spreads and bets for the upcoming slate of games. While most of these selections could go either way, the following five games stand out as safe choices that should pay off. Last week, we went 3-2 with our picks, and now we’ll try to keep that winning streak going.

5 Week 2 Spread Bets Guaranteed to Cash

Baltimore Ravens (+3.5) at Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals are a talented football team that will undoubtedly be in the Super Bowl hunt towards the end of the season. However, in the short term, they might need some time to recover from their Week 1 beatdown against the Cleveland Browns. Joe Burrow is clearly not recovered from his training camp injury, and it’s going to be hard to beat a team as good as the Ravens with a hobbled passer. Not only should the Ravens cover the spread, but they’re a safe bet to actually win this Week 2 matchup.

Prediction: Ravens win

Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans (+1.5)

The Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans aren’t exactly playoff contenders, but the Week 2 spread implies that both teams are equally terrible. In reality, the Colts are the better team and a much safer bet for this Week 2 spread. Anthony Richardson had a promising debut, putting up a strong effort against a good Jacksonville Jaguars team. The Texans, meanwhile, never even put up a fight against the Baltimore Ravens. Even though they have to travel south, Indianapolis should still come away with the victory.

Prediction: Colts win, cover spread

New York Giants at Arizona Cardinals (+5.5)

Everything that could go wrong for the New York Giants in Week 1, did go wrong. The team imploded on every level imaginable, losing 40-0 in front of a national audience. While they won’t be THAT bad every single week, they’re clearly not as good as their 2022 playoff berth implied. Truthfully, they’re roughly as talented as the Washington Commanders, and they just struggled to beat these very same Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals put up a great fight, going on the road and losing 20-16 despite holding the lead entering the fourth quarter. The Giants will probably win, but the 5.5-point Week 2 spread implies that this game won’t be competitve, and that’s a dangerous bet.

Prediction: Giants win, don’t cover spread

Los Angeles Chargers at Tennessee Titans (+3)

The Los Angeles Chargers defense couldn’t stop anything in Week 1, but trying to slow down Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle is a lot different than trying to stop Ryan Tannehill and an aging DeAndre Hopkins. Tannehill looked cooked against a pedestrian New Orleans Saints defense in Week 1, and Los Angeles should be able to get a few stops throughout the night. On the other side of the ball, Justin Herbert should have no problem scoring at will with Kellen Moore calling the plays. This one could get ugly, fast, and is probably the safest of all the Week 2 spread bets.

Prediction: Chargers win, cover spread

[metabet_core_odds_board query=”535911″ site_id=”lastwordonsports”]

New Orleans Saints at Carolina Panthers (+3)

The New Orleans Saints new-look offense didn’t exactly take flight in Week 1, but they did enough to earn a win over the Tennessee Titans. The same could not be said for the Carolina Panthers, as rookie Bryce Young looked overwhelmed trying to make it work with an absolutely terrible supporting cast. Carolina is going to struggle to score points all season long, and the defense is going to have a tough time with Jaycee Horn sidelined. The Saints are no super team, but they won’t need to be to take down the Panthers.

Prediction: Saints win, cover spread
