Week 8 Stream Team, led by Giants QB Daniel Jones

Every week is a great week when there’s football involved. Each week this column will analyze a player at each position rostered in 50 percent of Yahoo leagues or less. This group of players is basically a dream stream team. For reference, the threshold used for Wins and Losses in this article will be if the quarterbacks can score at least 17 points, if the tight ends can score at least eight PPR points, and if the rest can score at least 10 PPR points. Here is the Week 8 Stream Team.

Week 8 Stream Team

Quarterback – Daniel Jones (NYG – 40%) @ SEA

Daniel Jones has been a Stream Team regular this year and really every year for that matter. He has weeks and stretches that make him seem like a must-start fantasy quarterback but will follow it up with plenty of duds. Jones has never been able to sustain the big games and that inconsistency has been what’s held his rostership percentage down over the course of his career. Jones has arguably the worst receiving corps in the NFL but he can get it done with his legs and that’s what he’s been doing. Just this week he carried 11 times for 107 yards and a score. Jones finished as the QB4 with 31.78 fantasy points. He is now the QB9 for the entire season averaging 17.32 fantasy points per game. That’s more than Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Derek Carr, and Kirk Cousins. This week Jones gets a juicy matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks have been a team to target since they have been a good offense but haven’t been able to stop anyone on defense. That trend should continue this week making Jones one of the best Week 8 Stream Team options at quarterback.

Honorable Mentions – Jameis Winston (NO – 20%) v LV, Marcus Mariota (ATL – 29%) v CAR

Running Back – D’Onta Foreman (CAR – 49%) @ ATL

After superstar running back, Christian McCaffrey was traded to the San Francisco 49ers late Thursday night, it was uncertain how the running back situation would shake out for the Carolina Panthers. To be frank, it was uncertain if it would even matter regardless considering how bad the Panthers have been. So of course they come out and gash one of the toughest run defenses in the league. D’Onta Foreman was the lead with 15 carries for 118 yards while adding two catches for another 27 yards. Chuba Hubbard also chipped in nine carries for 63 yards and a score along with two catches for another 10 yards himself. This was arguably the most shocking development of the entire weekend. Hubbard hurt his ankle a bit so there could be even more work for Foreman this week as they take on the Atlanta Falcons, a much easier matchup than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were this week. That makes him a great Week 8 Stream Team option.

Honorable Mentions – Gus Edwards (BAL – 43%) @ TB, Latavius Murray (DEN – 40%) @ JAX

Wide Receiver – Parris Campbell (IND – 4%) v WAS

Of course, as soon as Alec Pierce becomes a thing for the Indianapolis Colts, Parris Campbell decides to turn in two straight double-digit target weeks. He had been a popular sleeper candidate for years but just hadn’t been able to stay healthy. Heading into this year, Campbell had some buzz around him once again but this time it was performance, not health, that was the issue. That was until the past two weeks. Campbell has posted his two best games in a row now. In Week 6 he caught seven of his 11 targets for 57 yards and a touchdown. He followed that up this week by catching 10 of his 12 targets for 70 yards and a score. This has coincided with a big spike in both snap share and route participation. Hopefully, those can stick for Campbell who is an explosive playmaker on a team that needs more playmakers to step up. This week’s matchup against the Washington Commanders is a good one. The Commanders have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to wide receivers this year so far. Campbell is available in most leagues and he should prove to be a very good Week 8 Stream Team candidate.

Honorable Mentions – Zay Jones (JAX – 18%) v DEN, Wan’Dale Robinson (NYG – 29%) @ SEA

Tight End – Greg Dulcich (DEN – 11%) @ JAX

It’s only been two games into Greg Dulcich’s career so far but he’s already looking like a must-start weekly option at tight end. Granted that bar isn’t a very high one to clear, but it’s not common for a rookie tight end to be considered a must-start, let alone only two games into his career. After being drafted in the third round this year, Dulcich got some buzz before suffering a hamstring injury in the preseason. He finally made his debut last week and instantly was a factor scoring his first touchdown and racking up 12.40 fantasy points. This week he didn’t score a touchdown but still put up 11.10 fantasy points even without the score. That’s because Dulcich hauled in six passes for 51 yards on his nine targets. The nine targets were tied for the most any tight end saw in the entire league this week. This is just another reminder that this was only Dulcich’s second NFL game. This week’s matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars is a mediocre one. Ultimately that type of volume at the tight end position is just too much to ignore making Dulcich one of the best Week 8 Stream Team options.

Honorable Mentions – Evan Engram (JAX – 41%) v DEN, Irv Smith Jr (MIN – 41%) v ARI
