The 2022 Dallas Cowboys schedule is set following the 2022 NFL Draft. The Cowboys schedule is much more difficult this season than last season. They have the opportunity to play against some of the best teams in the NFL including the Los Angeles Rams, Cincinnati Bengals, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Green Bay Packers. The Cowboys have an easier stretch of their schedule, particularly the middle portion including some of the weaker teams in the NFL. Dallas will have to take advantage of the following games and bolster their win/loss record if they are to win the NFC East and make playoffs in 2022-2023.

Least Difficult Games of the 2022 Dallas Cowboys Schedule
Week 15: Dallas Cowboys @ Jacksonville Jaguars
The easiest game on the 2022 Dallas Cowboys schedule comes in week 15 when Dallas visits the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars are coming off a very poor season after firing former coach Urban Meyer. Key players like Laviska Shenault, D.J. Chark, and Trevor Lawrence did not live up to their potential while Jacksonville struggled to win games all season finishing the year at 3-14
Doug Pederson will be looking to start his tenure in Jacksonville on a high note competing for the AFC South. He will look to Lawrence to lead the way during a bounce-back season. Pederson and the Jaguars will also rely on a healthy Travis Etienne, newly acquired Christian Kirk, and recently drafted players such as number one pick Travon Walker and fellow first-round pick Devon Lloyd.

Week 14: Dallas Cowboys vs. Houston Texans
Dallas travels to the Houston Texans in Week 14 one week before traveling to Jacksonville. This is the second-least difficult game on the schedule. David Culley is in the first season as head coach and will look to Davis Mills to lead the Texans in the middle of a rebuild.
The Texans are returning star wide receiver Brandin Cooks without much more firepower. Texans fans should be most excited to see new players like Derek Stingley Jr, Kenyon Green, Jalen Pitre, and John Metchie III. These newly drafted players will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact for Houston.
Week 7: Dallas Cowboys vs. Detroit Lions
Dallas faces off against the Detroit Lions in week seven. Detroit is also in a rebuild after trading Matthew Stafford for Jared Goff. The Lions have also traded other assets such as Kenny Golladay in recent seasons. The Lions are left with a cast of young skill players who struggled mightily all last season. This is yet another game the Cowboys must take advantage of if they are to retain control of the NFC East.
Week 8: Dallas Cowboys vs. Chicago Bears
Dallas also gets to play against the Chicago Bears and the struggling Justin Fields. Last season was a letdown once Matt Nagy handed the keys to the offense over to Fields. The Chicago Bears offense is lackluster with no alpha pass catchers after the departure of Allen Robinson. Chicago’s lone bright spot is David Montgomery, a physical running back from Iowa State. If Dallas can keep Montgomery in check, they should wrap up another victory against one of the weaker teams in the NFC.
Week 12: Dallas Cowboys @ Minnesota Vikings
Dallas visits the Minnesota Vikings in week 12. This will be an NFC rematch from last season. In 2021 the Cowboys beat the Vikings behind two touchdown passes from Cooper Rush in Dak Prescott’s absence with a leg injury. Amari Cooper also had a big game including a go-ahead touchdown catch from Rush with less than one minute left in the fourth quarter.
Minnesota will be looking for revenge in this game featuring Adam Theilen and Justin Jefferson versus Trevon Diggs and Dalvin Cook against Micah Parsons. This is another crucial game for the Cowboys to secure the NFC East.
Week 3 and 13: Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants
The Cowboys play their division rivals early on in week three as they visit The Meadowlands. The New York Giants hit an absolute home run during the 2022 NFL Draft this season and will be looking for their rookies to make an immediate impact. Evan Neal and Kayvon Thibodeaux are two rookies who should earn a starting position and immediately impact the offensive and defensive lines, respectively. Dallas will have their hands full early on in week three and in week 13 as Brian Daboll and Mike Kafka strive to get Daniel Jones, Kenny Golladay, and Saquon Barkly on track. If the offense can get rolling the Giants could be serious contenders for the NFC East.

Week 4 and 18: Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Commanders
The Cowboys also face off against the Washington Commanders early on in the season during week four. The new-look Commanders traded for Carson Wentz in the off-season and are hoping to add more consistent quarterback play to their dynamic skill group. Both the early and late-season matches should be entertaining as the Commanders charge Wentz to lead Terry McLaurin, Antonio Gibson, and newly drafted Jahan Dotson against the top-tier Dallas offense.
The Cowboys have several games on their slate which are must-wins if they want to secure the NFC East again in 2022. The gap has drastically narrowed as the Commanders, Eagles, and Giants all improved their rosters significantly both in the draft and with off-season acquisitions. The Cowboys also have a much more difficult schedule featuring some of the NFL best teams from last year. If the Boys in Blue want to secure the NFC East again they will have to take advantage of each of these games to position themselves ahead of the much more competitive NFC East.
