Longtime NFL veteran wide receiver Julio Jones signed a new contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jones, two-time First-Team All-Pro, spent the 2021 season with the Tennessee Titans but has also played for the Atlanta Falcons.

Julio Jones, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Agree to Contract
2021 was a season to forget for Julio Jones. After requesting a trade in the offseason, the Falcons dealt the former first-round pick to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for a second- and fourth-round pick. This move joined Jones with young superstar A.J. Brown, but Jones struggled to stay on the field. In total, the wideout played in just 10 games while recording 31 receptions for 434 yards and one touchdown on 48 targets. This was his second straight year in which injuries caused him to miss significant time, as Jones played in just nine games in 2020. During that abbreviated season, Jones recorded 51 receptions for 771 yards and three touchdowns on 68 targets.
Jones originally entered the NFL as a first-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. Selected by the Atlanta Falcons, the Alabama product made an impact right out of the gate. Starting and appearing in 13 games, Jones finished his rookie season with 54 receptions for 959 yards and eight touchdowns. Jones showed plenty of promise as a rookie before transforming into one of the NFL’s best receivers during his second year. Appearing in 16 games, Jones recorded 79 receptions for 1,198 yards and 10 touchdowns on 128 targets. This impressive campaign earned him the first Pro Bowl selection of his career.
Jones’ best season likely came in 2015. Starting and appearing in all 16 games, Jones finished the season with 136 receptions for 1,871 yards and eight touchdowns on 203 targets. He led the league in both receptions and yards while earning First-Team All-Pro honors. Jones followed this up by recording 83 receptions for 1,409 yards and six touchdowns in just 14 games during the 2016 season. His 100.6 yards per game led the league, and he earned the second First-Team All-Pro selection of his career.
